Cinderella cases

Post by brotherbear »

I was wondering if anyone has bought the Cinderella PE recently?

I recently (as in today) bought Cinderella from bestbuy (I got a price match with Target for $19.99, and it came with slipcover!! :D ) and the case is different from the other PE's (and other Cinderella's for that matter)...it's one of the cases that has "snap tabs" on the side that say "Open" on them. Also, the inside flap that holds Disk 1 is very light, and well, cheap even when compared to the other PE cases.

Now, I still have yet to watch Cinderella to make sure it functions properly and is not defective, but what's up with the case?! Also, the DVD Guide seems a little bit faded (only when compared to the case itself)...the thing is I KNOW for a fact that this can't be a boot since it had the Buena Vista seal, and I bought it brand new from BestBuy...and I didn't think to look at the other Cinderella's to see if they were the same. I was wondering if anyone else bought one new recently or noticed this in the stores?

I haven't bought mine recently, I bought it the first day it came out, but there are "snap tabs" that say "open" on them. So, I don't think you need to worry about it.

That's why I always buy my Disney DVDs at Target the day it comes out.
I never got to Walmart or Bestbuy because they have those annoying snap cases. So they lost a customer.

Also, Walmart NEVER has the rebate coupons in the DVDs so That is another reason why I never buy from them. :)

Thank you very much for your replies!!

Both disks work fine and so what I did was I switched my Cinderella and Finding Nemo cases since I rarely ever watch Finding Nemo anymore...So, overall i'm happy!

Oh, and BATBfan1, I have in fact bought a DVD at Target before that had the annoying snap case, although it wasn't a Disney release (It was the DVD of the Musical "Cats".) Nonetheless, I'm sure there are others in Target that have snap cases. :) Also with Target, I recently bought the Aladdin PE there (I think it was around late July) and NONE of the coupons/rebate stuff inside (only the guide and the little book on the sequels)...But I guess you've got it under control since you buy your Disney DVD's on the release date. :) I personally don't mind that because 1- I never use them and 2- they would be expired by now anyway.

Thanks again!!

I bought the gift set when it first came out last year, and mine has the snap tab case. Can't stand them to be honest, I always forget about the tabs and wonder why the damn thing won't open.

It's not hard to rip the snap tabs off. I don't mind them, seeing as they prevent my 5 year old cousin from smudging up my DVD's, but my brother hates them and always rips them off.

Lol, me too! That annoyed me, but I guess it's because they usually mark it down really low the first few weeks, so it sort of justifies not having coupons.
