I'd like to know myself. I'd be interested in obtaining one of these DVDs.TheSequelofDisney wrote:And who is that certain someone?Disneykid wrote:Yup, all of the song demos in the music section are from the LD, and the DVD has a grand, whopping total of six of them. Hopefully when Disney revisits Alice on Blu-Ray, the edition really will be this definitive. At least I'll be held off in the meantime with the DVD a certain someone on this board is making for me of the missing LD features.

Maybe the Pinocchio Platinum Edition will come true, since the movie was added to the Platinum line.

I hope I will not regret returning to this thread later on and that some people have learned their lesson. I hope that any future posts after mine will not contain anything remotely similar to descriptions and names for bonus features, packaging, banner names, etc. From now on, if any of my new descriptions or featurettes are copied and slightly modified for someone else's set, I will pull out once again, and simply ignore that user's messages on the boards. It's not my thread, but I'll ask Sequel to once again ask for it to be closed, to further prevent more acts of plagiarism.

Friday, August 25, 2006:
Anyways, I've taken my original specs for The Rocketeer and updated it, so it's more uniform with my specs for The Black Hole. Though, how The Black Hole ended up with 3 discs while I can only muster 2 for The Rocketeer is somewhat puzzling, as I enjoy Rocketeer over Black Hole...

Thanks! And it's nice to know Mr. Maltin loves The Rocketeer too!thatartguy wrote:Escapay, I like how you think. Forward this to Mr. Maltin. Maybe he can pull some strings. (He believes The Rocketeer is highly undervalued as well.)

Oh...my...goodness, Escapay...That Bedknobs DVD sounds freaking amazing. I'd be happy if we'd get a re-release with half of that material. The chances of a SE this year are unlikely, so I'm hoping we get one next year. We haven't had a multi-disc release of a live-action catalogue title since Mary Poppins in 2004...
One note, though: I don't think the opening credits for the film had German and...something really gross that I can't even decipher, even if there are Nazis in the film.

Yeah, it was a "no hotlinking!" image written in big German caps. I honestly don't know exactly what the picture was of. It looked like a mix between VERY dirty looking trash bags and a pile of (literal) crap.Escapay wrote:(unless it's one of those "no hotlinking!" images that I can't see, so I'll just change it to a generic amazon picture...)

We like Howard Ashman so much we'll tribute him again!
Why do you want a new one created? The old one was perfect, it covered all of his work on Disney films. There's just not much more, or much different that could be put into a new one. They could try, but it wouldn't be much different from the old one.azul017 wrote:- A Tribute to Howard Ashman (a new one created for this DVD)
I can just imagine Ashman saying, "You're interviewing me again? What could I possibly have to say now that I didn't say in the old interview for my tribute?"

Wow, so are the DVD producers gonna hold a seance in order to interview him? Sweet! I hope they get to do Uncle Walt next!Disney Duster wrote:Why do you want a new one created? I think Azul meant a tribute to Howard Ashman that's different than the featurette dedicated to him on the Beauty and the Beast DVD (which was basically about how he was involved with the film from his death bed and never got to see the finished product). The new featurette Azul probably has in mind is something akin to Alan Menken featurette you were thinking of where his overall career is covered, only this time it'd be by interviews from people who knew him.

My apologies, azul017. I mixed up Howard Ashman with Alan Menkin, and I was thinking of the one on the Aladdin DVD. I should really stop shooting off my mouth when I don't know everything about the topic.
