If you havent played it, try to track down Saga Frontier for the PS1...Its a Japanese RPG with an awesome complicated fighting system. Its completely underrated but also hard to find. Sadly the last Saga game wasnt that good.
Final Fantasy 8 though remains my favourite FF game...and I fondly think of it alot, but havent played it since I beat it 2 years ago (partly because my PS2 is now sitting top of my entertainment center since the laser doesnt work right, partly because I can't find my discs )

Valkyrie Profile - maybe easier now that the PSP version is out... If nothing else, I will go with the PSP version...
I'll probably just start with a wii(zelda, Mario, super smash brothers, kirby, and starfox) and get the ps3 after it gets marked down a lot. It also depends if there will be a kingdom hearts 3 for it.
I've been thinking a lot recently about the new consoles and while I voted Wii and 360 when this thread started, I will more than likely only get the Wii.
Not sure I will get the Wii at launch either, but I will pickup one very soon. The next system I'm looking at getting is a DS. That will be my first handheld since the original Gameboy.
I am going to save up for a PS3 and ask for the Wii for Christmas. Why not the other way around? I'm sure my parents are much more willing to buy me a game system for around $200 than $600.

... so far, I'm not very impressed with the games released for Xbox 360. The only thing that could convince me to buy one at the moment is the ability to play Jet Set Radio Future and/or Psychonauts... but they've yet to be added to Backwards Compatibility.
... and PS3! Well, it's to expensive for my tastes at the moment... though those realistic Giant Enemy Crabs roxorz my boxorz!!1
