You were kidding right? I never understood that to be the case. This is going to sound really dweebish but I bought a book on how birds migrate (have you ever wondered how an artic tern KNOWS his route every year and travels 25,000 miles?) Anyway, haven't read it as of yet (bought it years ago) but I was under the impression that migratory patterns don't change.

Wait, hold on... I thought the set being released has ALL of the TLA and short subject features Disney ever released, so this could not be an ongoing series like treasures. Is there any word that it is going to be a series like the Treasures?

Yes all of the TLAs will be included on these 4 volumes, but the terms 'first in a series' and 'debuting with the True Life Adventures', which implies there will be more and the TLA are just the starting point.

Exactly - there should be more "series of films" in existence in Disney's archives, that don't quite fit into the usual pattern of movies released on DVD. I think this is going to be interesting. :)

Thanks for covering for me, Ichabod. Yes, I was kidding. Last time I knew, lions haven't hunted in the American midwest yet. (Unless they escaped from the circus.)

Must be too tired from studying-yes the "lions" remark should have tipped me off that the whole post was suspect.

Until we've confirmed these are plastic and not actually in tins, I can't pre-order. How can I trust any of the mail order places will deliver my tins undented? We all know what a bad experience I had last year with Amazon and the Treasures Series tins...

Got my order in this morning for the True Life Adventures (using the UD links, natch :P).

My $1000 prize money is slowly diminishing :)

At any rate, I do look forward to these, and they are a nice substitute for the Treasures, but I really hope we hear news of the Treasures Wave soon, as I am now all excited by the prospect of the Disneyland episodes in my hot little hands and DVD player.

Why don't I have enough money to buy these volumes? Life isn't fair, I wish I had more money. I want these, the treasures, most of the other treasures, the new HSM dvd, and countless other OOP movies/dvds that I don't have the money to buy.

I've been in touch w/ Bill Cotter, who is checking in on the release date for the Wave 6 Treasures. I'll post here and in the other thread when I have more information.

I wonder if anywhere will sell the Legacy Collection as a 4-set package deal.

Anyone know?

If history is any indicator...NO...at least initially. They might show up as a de-packaged set in Costco or some other retailer in future years, but Disney's going to want to get us all to purchase each title individually to see if these things fly or not...

...which of course, they will...at least with people on this board :)

From what I have heard, the scheduling of the TLAs doesn't necessarily mean the Treasures won't be coming in December as well. But if nothing new comes in by the end of this week, then it seems that a rescheduling is in order.

Thanks!

I guess I should have been more specific. I know Disney won't package them together but was wondering if an on-line retailer was. I have seen it with other DVDs. They package the 4 together and take a few bucks off to encourage you to buy all 4 from them. So you would still get the 4 separate tins.

Just thought I'd share, DVDPacific now has these up for $22.34. And for all you UKers shipping is only $3.48 per item to the UK. And I'm sure a certain member won't find them half as objectionable as DeepDiscount DVD! ;)

Nope. They've got to be ordered in a session during which you arrive at Amazon from a UD affiliated link. Even if you visit from a UD link and then go to your wish list and buy them, that might not get credit. I'm not positive. Going straight through the product links is all they claim will get credit.

The Wish List really helps Amazon not have to pay affiliates who refer them to the site for the product. Heck, a lot of times (say, 99% of the time), people who click a UD link and go to Amazon do not buy that product. They may later buy from Amazon, but only if they return there from UD, do we get the credit.

Thank goodness there's only a couple of the Treasures discs that I want. I'd like to keep my bill under a hundred bucks here.
