Animation Change

Post by BILLONEE »

I heard that next year's "Home On The Range" will be the last animated film the Disney studios create traditionally due to the popularity of computer animation. I'd like to know if the "style" of animation will be discontinued as well. For those of you who don't understand what I mean, here is what I'm talking about: Are they
1.-going to draw & paint in the traditional way but use a computer to do it (which renders a picture like what you see in "Beauty & The Beast"), or
2.-going to digitally create images by computer that would produce an image like what you see in "Toy Story"? As much as I enjoy the latest animated movies with their three dimensional visuals, I still enjoy watching the traditionally animated masterpieces that I grew up with which has been the hallmark & legend of the Disney company. All I ask is that the Disney decision makers hold on to their traditional ways as an option for some ideas that may come their way in the future. Using computers for animation is not bettering an artform. It's choosing a different one. Thank You.---Bil
