One can easily see how much more Volume Two has to offer than Volume One with the episodes. There was no Treasure of the Golden Suns on Volume One and I gave the episodes mixed reviews. Some of them dragged or lacked creativity such as "Robot Robbers", "Sir Gyro De Gearloose", and "Launchpad's Civil War". In my opinion these three episodes are the least fun of Volume One. With each episode though the series improves. Of course these were the earliest DuckTales episodes and after seeing the great pilot I expected more.
Episodes like the three I mentioned above that takes the focus off of Scrooge and sometimes he doesn't appear at all try to make it work but often doesn't. Without Scrooge the usual treasure hunts, and money related adventures that made such an impact on viewers was reduced to episodes that revolved around Launchpad, Doofus and the nephews. Not that these characters weren't good it's just that they are sometimes annoying and Scrooge afterall is the highlight! The good thing is that no episode on this set is bad because there are appealing jokes, artowrk, and ideas that were still pretty good!
It was episodes on this set such as "Sweet Duck of Youth", "Down and Out in Duckburg", and "Much Ado About Scrooge" that showed the regular episodes could sometimes shine as well as the multi-parters!!!
Which of these early episodes did you like the least and the most???
Not all the episodes were great on DuckTales Volume One...
