Don't believe it, this movie is shrill, whiny, and in my opinion is a movie that daughters should shoot moms for suggesting they go see it together. Now, don't get all up in arms because I said 'shoot', you all know what I mean. Angelica Huston can't save this movie from its total mediocrity about two daughters who take over the family's cosmetic empire when their father dies (and tell me please, what is so funny about someone dying, but they do play it for laughs in this movie).
This would have been the perfect movie for the Hilton Sisters to make, even they might be more watchable than the Duffs - I doubt it, but it is a thought.
Directed by Martha Coolidge, who brought us the 80's classics, "Valley Girl" and "Real Genius" , must have been wearing blindfolds and earmuffs when she made this film. She plays everyone to be so tone-deaf that even the music, which by the way is pretty good, can't make us forget how bad this movie really is.
I give this a strong D and that is because I have never seen a movie worth an F. This one is pretty close, though.
