I guess we will know by the end of August what the contents will be on "Walt Disney Treasures - Your Host, Walt Disney". (I say late August as that is when we found out the contents of the previous wave).
Below are the "Disneyland" anthology episodes that I am most eagerly awaiting, but I don't know how much Walt himself prominently features in them. Perhaps someone who owns "Extinct Attractions club" DVD's or who has taped these off the old Vault Disney may know ? I REALLY want the last 5 on the list.
A Trip Through Adventureland
Disneyland, The Park
An Adventure in the Magic Kingdom
Gala Day at Disneyland
Disneyland '59
Disneyland 61
The Golden Horseshoe Revue
Holiday Time at Disneyland
Disneyland Goes to the World's Fair
Disneyland Around the Seasons
From the Pirates of the Caribbean to the World of Tomorrow (I know part of this is on the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD).
Disneyland Showtime
Bill Cotter mentioned on March 07 that 4 of the tv shows were pretty well right to go.. I'm surprised we haven't already heard further.

too long a thread to read in order to find the needle in a haystack from bcotter announcing (or confirming depending on how you want to look at it) the titles for this wave. I feel invested enough to read all the posts but for someone not as vested in the subject, they probably just got tired on page 2 or 3MikeyMouse wrote:Haven't all of this Wave's titles been revealed earlier in this thread? Why the continued speculating?

Anyway, weighing in on this - I am VERY HAPPY with this set (I agree, if Bill Cotter confirmed, he's got no reason to mislead us) - even more happy with it than Set 5, but i am very unfamiliar with the live action shows like Hardy Boys etc. Still, I will buy all the set. I am very interested in seeing More of Walt and anything related to the OLD Disneyland, so I'm especially looking forward to the one featuring mostly himself. But it is hard to say what will be my favorite, since I love the Silly Symphonies (thank you again Paka for Silly Symphonies Vol. 1 at Xmas!)!!!! I would expect that the official announcement (whenever it comes) will just confirm what Cotter states. And you guys are GREAT detectives - do you realize that basically you guys called 3 of the 4 tins?! That is amazing.

Now going back to the quality of the Tins - do any of you expect any changes in the packaging - better tins, the pictures put on straight, etc? I know after last year's fiasco that I can't count on Amazon to deliver the tins without dents so I guess I'll either be buying the tins at some discount outlet or the Disney store or something - somewhere where I can inspect for the dents!

I've got the titles confirmed in a few different ways now. Exact names may change (note the latest titles on the Treasures page), but the basic ideas for each set have long been locked and should be announced by August or so.

Pluto R1:
I'm basically not familiar with any of the live-action shows, but I've been very happy with practically all of the Treasures so far. I have memories of reading a substantial number of Hardy Boys books, though.
As for the detective work performed in this thread: There aren't really that many possibilities left in the theatrical cartoons field, so that explains quite a bit. "Detecting" upcoming live-action volumes, though, seems more difficult, in my opinion - and I had no part in that...

TREASURE WAVE 6 CONTENTS UPDATES???
Hey, here we are August 2nd and I still haven't seen any updates as to what the exact contents of the next wave of Walt Disney Treasures will be. Aren't we a little overdue? Usually we've heard by now, and they're usually up for pre-order by now as well. I'm really curious as to the contents of "Your Host," not to mention what bonus features we can expect on the others.
Re: TREASURE WAVE 6 CONTENTS UPDATES???
Nope, last year we got a press release on August 22nd. I'd expect one for this year's around the same time, or maybe even a week or two later based on how Disney has been announcing things and based on the fact that the Treasures require development, legal clearance, and all kinds of other tasks (that are taken for granted in most modern DVD releases) up until the minute everything is finalized.ohmahaaha wrote:Usually we've heard by now, and they're usually up for pre-order by now as well.

Treasures?
Hi people! How come that the WDT wave 6 press release is that late? Last year the press release was posted on 15th or 16th august...
Wave 6?
I'm sorry if there's another thread for this that I've missed - I'm just so darned curious!
Is there any new info on dates for release/pre-order of WDT wave 6? Any further info on the contents?

Hopefully they put more effort into restoring the content like they used to.
That was a big disappointment for me in the last set, especially considering some of my favorite cartoons were on the Rarities and Chronological Donald Volume 2.
They weren't bad by any stretch, but the work done on the first 4 volume was really a standout job.

Anyway, I wish they'd do something about the quality of the tins and I'm happy to get another Silly Symphonies as well as Pluto! I'll buy the entire wave since I don't want to be chasing around for un-bought copies later at a higher OOP price!

Just in case anyone missed it, the following information on the Your Host, Walt Disney Treasure set was shared by Bill Cotter under the thread - Zorro? (Guy Williams).
To quote Bill Cotter:
"I Captured The King Of The Leprechauns" is there for the next Wave, as are the 4th and 10th Anniversary episodes. Best thing for me, though, is the long thought lost "Kodak Presents Disneyland '59". This only aired once as a Special and is one of the few shows I am missing. I don't have my list of the other stuff right here but will try to stop back again with it.
Thanks again for the info, Bill!!
So that at least gives part of the contents of Your Host, Walt Disney. Even though "I Captured ..." is a double-dip from the Darby O'Gill ... DVD, I expected it would show in this Treasure since it is Walt's most extensive acting in any of the shows. The 4th and 10th Anniversary shows are excellent and I look forward to seeing them again on DVD.
Like Bill, I am amazed that someone found "Kodak Presents Disneyland '59" - most knowledgeable Disney fans felt that special was long lost - never to be seen again. That will be a special treat for me to see it!!

Thanks for updating this thread with this info. Wow, so we'll get a very rare episode of Disneyland in 1959 (whatever that is) - Great!jebsdad wrote: "I Captured The King Of The Leprechauns" is there for the next Wave, as are the 4th and 10th Anniversary episodes.
