The Snow Queen is actually being made into a musical stage show for Tokyo DisneySea and the music and songs are being composed by Alan Menken. If it's popular enough, perhaps they'll make it into the next DAC.

The Frog Prince is gonig to be a 2-D Animated DAC sometime after Rapunzel and will be changed to The Frog Princess.

Disney Television Animation did A Midsummer Night's Dream as a double short for "Mickey Mouse Works"/"House of Mouse." It was actually really funny and featured a lot of characters all at once. It wasn't exact to the story, but it was a very good retelling of the story. It was almost a parody, but then it wasn't. The only thing that bothered me was that Donald was in love with Minnie, but I guess it wouldn't be the same story if they avoided that. I wish I had that on DVD. It was a great short!
I don't know what other fairy tales there are...because Disney hasn't done them yet!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! True! But you're right that there really aren't any well-known Fairy tales that Disney or some other animation company hasn't tackled yet.

A lot of people thought Freaky Friday was terrific. What do you mean "a big fat zero" for remakes?

I would like to see a Disney Animated Classic version of The Wizard of Oz. It'd be nice to see a fresh new version of the story and hopefully a closer story to the actual book. I have yet to see the Muppet version.

And you didn't miss much. It was by all reports terrible. Critics hated it, and ABC didn't even re-run it, the ratings were so low.

Something that could be cool is Noah's ark from the animals perspective... or with animals interacting with the people. Not sure how it would go with whole biblical element tho...

I'd like to see them do The Wild Swans it's not really that well known but it's about a young girl whos brothers get turned into swans and she has to turn them back. The rest of the story isnt that great (well the one I have anyway) but disney could easily revamp and add more to it, plus the art in this book where I first read teh story is so beautiful, it has such a melancholy fell to it

Aww, it wasn't that horrible... it had some good moments :) Kermit, talking to the great Oz: "Are you related to Frank?"

I have a preview for that on an old VHS of some foreign animated movie called The Secret of the Seal! That movie does look like it has a pretty good story. I think it's a Brothers Grimm story because it sounds very similar to a lot of other stories they retold. Though I must say that the animation for that movie looked rather primitive and overly simple compared to the lush, colorful animation of the Disney features.
