Technically I'm in school now but will be starting even more courses in October. I decided to go ahead and complete the process to become a California State licensed certified general appraiser. Hopefully I will still be able to take sanity breaks by posting over here at the forums, but worse case, I will be done with the courses by hopefully November.
I already have a BA and a Master's degree in Urban Geography. As a licensed appraiser I will have to continue to go to school every 2 years to maintain my certification.

I'm going back to school Monday.
In fact, when Monday begins, I'm thinking about leaving this site for a while. With school starting, I want to accomplish a lot in high school, and doing that, means more focus and less doing stuff I'd do in free time. I'll lurk time to time, and if I get the time, I'll post a couple posts, but when Monday comes, you may not see me until next year.
Well, I guess they'll be no more defending the epic masterpiece that is Chicken Little(well, unless Escapay has time and takes the job).

wow, that is great that they are so excited.... I recall being really scared. When I was left in pre-school on the 1st day, I cried. Later when I transferred to my first public school in 2nd grade, I did not know what a "cafeteria" was, only that I was supposed to go there when it was lunchtime. So when the lunch bell rang, I was scared and instead of asking where this mysterious "cafeteria" thing was, I took my lunch pail in hand and walked home! My mom and my grandfather happened to be home and were shocked to see me. They asked why I did not go to the cafeteria, so I told them that I did not know what it was. They drove me back to the school and talked to the teacher, Then the 3 of them walked me to the cafeteria (of course I was totally late and lunch about over!). After that, I used to like to eat at the cafeteria on the days when they sold hamburgers. Milk cost 10 cents back then.dvdjunkie wrote:My grandkids are so excited because school starts Tuesday, August 15. I can certainly relate - It takes a long time to read up on a topic here and then post something.... that is pretty much why I had to disappear in January and everyone probably wondered who this big flake "PR1" was that posted a whole bunch and then disappeared only to come back as a Disney events reviewer of sorts.... too much work at the beginning of the year and having to decide what I was going to do career-wise force me to basically stop posting in the forum.... I'm still in a semi-state of career crisis, not fully knowing what the heck I am trying to accomplish!
So back to the point at hand, hopefully you won't be really gone from the forum for the whole year, but don't let your studies suffer on the account of posting here at the forum.
What's this? You and Escapay fighting to preserve the reputation of CL? This I gotta see.... (where are those threads?) I think CL was a great movie. Sure it is not really in the league of something like "Cars" or "The Incredibles" or "Snow White" etc, but it has its place - I don't think they ever set out to make it a masterpiece but I thought it was a very enjoyable film and I bought myself the DVD when it came out (I even did an advanced order through the Disney store!)Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote: Well, I guess they'll be no more defending the epic masterpiece that is Chicken Little(well, unless Escapay has time and takes the job).

I remember my first day of kindergarten. I was so disappointed that I wouldn't be getting homework like the big kids! I thought I was missing out on something really fun. A few years later I quickly realized how wrong I was....dvdjunkie wrote:My grandkids are so excited because school starts Tuesday, August 15. Don't worry PR1! I didn't think you were a big flake! I remembered you and your Pluto avatar when you came back in full force! Oh and good luck with your career searching and schooling. I hope you don't disappear from us when you get that career.Pluto Region1 wrote:'Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote:I'm going back to school Monday. When Monday comes, you may not see me until next year.

Disappearing for school is definitely true for me too! I disappeared the beginning of senior year of high school and made it onto the Missing UDers list! But Pluto Region1 is right: it's great to post here to regain some sanity and take breaks, but don't get caught in the usual UD forum cycle and not do homework as well
He will. When he gets back to school is when he'll post a lot. It's when he goes to work for the Mouse House, he disappears from your lives and ours (Kram and Jane).Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote: Well, I guess they'll be no more defending the epic masterpiece that is Chicken Little(well, unless Escapay has time and takes the job).

Hmm, maybe we should just "sign ourselves out" at that thread for the missing UDer's. Then there'd be no one wondering what happened to us....Kram Nebuer wrote: Don't worry PR1! Thanks!Kram Nebuer wrote: Don't worry PR1! I didn't think you were a big flake! I remembered you and your Pluto avatar when you came back in full force! Oh and good luck with your career searching and schooling.I felt really bad; Luke came looking for me and asked me to do that 1st L&T assignment and I was trying to squeeze in these Disney events for UD, but then I'd have to scramble back to my job and plus I was getting my resume together and learning new computer programs so I could look for a new job/career - it was pretty much a mess! Between all of that, there was no time for the forum. It made me feel really guilty.
thanks!Kram Nebuer wrote:I hope you don't disappear from us when you get that career. No plans to disappear except for the occasional time-management issues; I feel very much at home here thanks to you and the rest of the UD community... plus if I lost interest in Disney, what would I do with all these Disney DVDs? No, I think I pretty much here to stay...
