Of all the fortcoming, or previosuly releases, Disney animated TV series, this would have to be the one I was looking forward to the most. A stand-out memory from my after-school activities, it was always an excuse to have a snack and sit-down before homework.
Now that I am in my late-20s, the idea of sitting down to watch them all again fills me with child-like delight. Having said that, I'm still yet to watch all of the Ducktales and Rescue Rangers eps.

That's kind of weird in way because with your age I'd guess Ducktales and Rescue Rangers would have been more in line with your childhood memories. I totally know what you mean though, Ducktales especially was/is like that for me.
I was like 5 when Ducktales came out and I have very fond memories of watching it with my cousin (who was also my babysitter). I can remember watching it before HW and enjoying it so much with a snack.

Oh, very much so. But I think TaleSpin was played as part of a block here, and I have fonder memories of it than any other show in the chunky Disney afternoon. Maybe my mind is playing tricks with the chronology...
O.K. I see this DVD is coming out on Aug. 29th and everyone (at least it seems that way) is raving about this show. But I don't remeber this show at all. Even looking at pictures I draw a complete blank.
Sorry, dont mean anything by that, I just don't recall it at all.
Can someone compare this to Ducktales (which I recall vividly) for me.
It it similar? Designed for a younger audience that Ducktales was? Etc...
As far as I can remember this was also a sort of "comedy" and "action adventure" series, so I wouldn't say that it's "designed for a younger audience that Ducktales was"... It included quite a few of the animal characters from "The Jungle Book".
If by younger audience you mean school age and early teens than yes Tailspin is similar to Ducktales. Its very much action adventure type of show. Very good if I remember right.
I may have misread something here...? I wouldn't say TS is particularly for a younger audience than DT - I guess the audience could be very much the same.
Thanks for the replies. Well I think I will give it a try. In a way it may actually be better if I don't recall it. It will be like a new series to me. Many of us buy DVDs of stuff we have already seen so we are actually going to watch reruns. It will be nice to see something for the first time for a change.
The set might be in production order, like DuckTales and Chip 'n Dale, so this is what I think TaleSpin Vol. 1 will have:
27 total half hours
1. I Only Have Ice for You
2. A Bad Reflection on You (Part 1)
3. Time Waits for No Bear
4. A Touch of Glass
5. It Came From Beneath the Sea Duck
6. Stormy Weather
7. The Bigger They Are, the Louder They Oink
8. For a Fuel Dollars More
9. The Idol Rich
10. Mommy for a Day
11. The Time Bandit
12. Polly Wants a Treasure
13. From Here to Machinery
14. A Spy in the Ointment
15. All's Whale That Ends Whale
16. Bearly Alive
17. A Star is Torn
18. Her Chance to Dream
19. Molly Coddled
20. On a Wing and a Bear
21. The Golden Sprocket of Friendship
22. War of the Wierds
23. Whistlestop Jackson, Legend
Bonus:
29 Pilot: Plunder and Lightning (Part 1)
30 Pilot: Plunder and Lightning (Part 2)
31 Pilot: Plunder and Lightning (Part 3)
32 Pilot: Plunder and Lightning (Part 4)
NOTES:
* I guess they are including the pilot just so fans don't wonder why it wasn't included, because the pilot was actually produced fas episodes 29-32, which would make it on a second volume of DVDs.
* Hopefully the 4-part pilot is in its original movie format because that is the unedited version.
* A Bad Reflection on You (Part 2) is actually episode 63 in production order, that is why it is missing.
I hope they go by airdate order instead with TaleSpin, because it would be strange not having part 2 of "A Bad Reflection on You."
If they go airdate order here are the first 23 episodes:

It's 6:16 in the morning and I haven't slept. Why? This review. With that in mind, please spare me any news of things that need fixing in this review. I've still got a lot of finalizing work to do on it, but I figured I ought to get it up right now, as I'm likely to conk out any moment now!
Thanks for the review Luke! iI's too bad that the DVD doesn't have chapter stops! That was very convenient in the DuckTales set to be able to skip to the different segments of the show. Wonder why they did that? Then again why did Disney leave out the pilot from DuckTales??? Production order? No excuse the pilot should always come first! Thankfully TS has the pilot in the format I remember seeing it and "A Bad Reflection on You" two-parter which was one of my favorites!
Looking forward to reading the Darkwing Duck Volume 1 review! Who is the photo of? He looks like Taylor Hicks! LOL!!!
O.K., so I'm a little confused. Apparently production order AND air date order put things out non-chronologically. Is there a chronological order to the series where people aren't introduced after they have already been on an adventure? Maybe there is a list somewhere that I haven't seen. I know that both the airdate and production order put the chronological story out of order....HELP PLease?
