I just saw your avatar last night in another thread on UD forums and had told my husband about your avatar because it is so funny. What a coincidence to come into TLM thread and find you guys talking about it! Having been a teenager when Jaws I came out, I recognized the shark right away. Very funny and clever!

Do you guys think TLM2 is any good? I didnt even know there was one; what was it a DTV release? I am still looking forward (I guess "hoping" would be more appropriate) to seeing this for the 1st time hopefully at El Capitan.... then, of course, buying the platinum edition! :)

The biggest thing I noticed is that there is going to be a 2-disk Special Edition SOUNDTRACK for TLM...which i think is exciting!

So, ya. Its not huge news, but its something. I still can't WAIT until the PE comes out! :D

Thanks for the sweepstakes info! Alot of cool stuff but I only could use the cruise trip or the CD. Anything else would have to go to my little cousin.

I think that TLM2 is a pretty good sequel. Theres tons of music, and Pat Carrol did a great voice for Morgana. Yes, it is a DTV, but one of the better ones, IMO.

Wahoo! A new soundtrack! Hopefully if it comes over here, it'll be like the UK reissues of the Alice in Wonderland and Dumbo soundtracks where it'll be dirt cheap in HMV the week it's released. ;)

Ummm, if the songs are from Disneymania, then it is SO not worth it.
BUT, if everything is new then it MAYBE worth it. :)

I would rather have bonus demos and deleted songs. 8)

Where did everyone get this picture from?

I think TLM2 is a decent sequel (Pat Carrol did do a good job) but my one gripe is that it is very re-hashy of the first one (possibly the most of any DTV sequels). Morgana is pretty much Ursula but skinny (even the same voice!). Tip and Dash bear striking resemblences to Timon and Pumba. But other than that, TLM2 is decent.

I'm still hoping that they'll re-release The Little Mermaid II as well. I think they should and probably will at some point. They re-released Lady and the Tramp II so I think it wouldn't be fair to not re-release this one (a long with the other sequels).

Was the press release for LatTII before or after the Platinum Edition release of the first one?

Who wouldn't?
I was almost certain the second disc would be the demo recordings, but of course no such luck. Fortunately, there's The Music Behind the Magic(although long out of print). It's great.

It was after, but it was also expected, since LATTIISA went OOP a few months before LATT was released.

But you gotta remember, Disney kept Cindy 2 in the vault despite the original coming to DVD last October. I'm guessing that's due to Cindy 3 being announced, and they'll probably re-release Cindy 2 when Cindy 3 comes to DVD. Maybe the same will happen with TLM2. When TLM3 comes to DVD, TLM2 will be re-released as well.

Of course, I'd prefer if Cindy 2, TLM2, and Cindy 3 and TLM3 just stay in the vault forever...

At Best Buy when you Pre-order The Little Mermaid for $5 you get $5 off The Little Mermaid or any other Disney DVD.

Just pay $5 now and pay the rest when The Little Mermaid comes out on DVD. Even when you pre-order Grey's Anatomy Season Two, Desperate Housewives Season Two and Lost Season Two you get $10 off Lost Season One, Desperate Housewives Season Two and Grey's Anatomy Season One. Just pay $10 now and pay the rest when they are release by both seasons and save $10.

Just my heads up for you guys.

So let's say we pay $5 for pre-order then save $5 on another Disney DVD. Will we save an extra $5 on the Little Mermaid in October?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you go to Best Buy and preorder The Little Mermaid and purchase another DVD you will save $5 on that DVD, but you have to pay $5 towards your Little Mermaid. When you pick up your copy of TLM it will be like you're saving $5 on it, because you already put $5 towards it when you pre-ordered it.

crunkcourt you are correct..you can used the $5 for The Little Mermaid: PE when you pre-order it before 10/3/06 or you can used it on another Disney DVD $14.99 and up. It's better just to used it on The Little Mermaid: PE.

magicalwands it's really one or the other you can't save $5 on both.

Let's say you went to Best Buy today to buy Dumbo and you pre-order The Little Mermaid...you didn't really save on Dumbo since you had to pay $5..but if you used it on The Little Mermaid when it comes out then you could. You can also use it on another Disney DVD but it would be better if you bought Dumbo and TLM together when TLM comes out on DVD.

I was just on the official Disney site, and I read that the next issue of Disney DVD Insider will come with The Little Mermaid: Platinum Edition.

http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/anima ... vdinsider/

I was curious to know if they were going to continue including these, and it appears they are!

Will the Special Edition Soundtrack come out on Oct. 3rd, too? Or at a different time? I would think Oct. 3rd, but I'm not positive.

I just had an idea. What if TLM2 and TLM3 were released together? Kinda like A2 and A3. That way, you get both movies for a better price. I don't know how many people would want both movies, but who knows. This could happen with CindyII and CindyIII, too.
