DVD FEATURES
I`d like to bring up a problem that I have with DVD`s & that is the continued habit of the studios to list the sound specifications (Dolby 5.1 for example) & Interactive menus as a "Special Feature". In my opinion, they should be classified as a "Technical Specification" & be listed separately. At times I think the studios include them in the "Special Features" list because it leads the public into believing they`re getting a lot more bonus film content. How do you feel about this? Thank you---Bill

Follow Up- I`d like to add another "feature" that shouldn`t even be included on DVD`s. It is anything that requires you to connect to the web or a website. There are some DVD`s I`ve purchased long after their original release & when I try the "Web Feature", I connect to a dead link. Therefore, this "feature" now becomes an example of false advertizing. It`s nice to see extra material, but it needs to be included on the DVD as a permanent source of bonus content.
Follow-Up #2-The focus here is not on the DVD, but on the packaging. I just purchased "The Osbournes-Second Season" & the first thing that came to mind was that it was packaged differently. If the studios are going to release multi volume DVD`s, they need to be consistent because when placed side by side, they look like unrelated titles. It looks so nice to see a matching set of a TV or movie series on a shelf or in a case. Also, I personally feel that listing the type of case a new DVD release will have is not necessary because I don`t consider it to be a special feature unless it`s specially designed for a particular title.---Bill
