Not only is that a decent price for these to begin with, but it's also nice that you can buy these to fulfill your DMC agreement while SAVING money rather than spending $20 on an overpriced title (i.e. most of what they carry). You might even luck up and find some sort of free shipping deal.

That's what I did- wait for a free shipping code and bought both - although TENG was priced at $21.95 I think, and even though Atlantis was priced at $22.95, it rang up $21.95 in my cart!

Hey, a dollar is a dollar!

Other than DMC, I haven't seen ANY good deals on these, and have never seen them in stores to begin with (esp with the newer, crappier version of TENG out).

half.ebay.com: Factory-sealed 2-disc editions for $11.00 and up (Atlantis) and $19 and up (TENG):
http://product.half.ebay.com/Atlantis-T ... 8QQtgZinfo
http://product.half.ebay.com/The-Empero ... rZ47865022

I have ordered DVDs from there before, and have been very pleased with the results. I have never gotten a bootleg or an edition from the wrong region. As long as you read the descriptions of the products carefully, you should be able to get what you want.

EDIT: you may also want to try Amazon Marketplace (where it says, "buy new and used for $$ and up" when you search for something on Amazon), or Deep Discount DVD for TENG, which is still in print.

Is half.com safer than ebay? Ever since my incident I can't seem to find myself to ever use ebay again.

Personally, I feel a lot safer using half.com than regular ebay. As far as I understand it, half.com is an extension of ebay that deals primarily in media sales that is very similar to the Amazon Marketplace (which I've also ordered items from, and is fairly reputable as well). For one thing, you can use credit cards directly through half.com as opposed to having to use Paypal for card transactions. Also, I have never been sent a faulty item from half.com...I received a Canadian edition of a movie once, but it was still Region 1 and had the exact same features as the American version (in fact, the only difference was that the cover had both French and English writing).

As long as you're careful when reading the descriptions of what you're buying, you should be in good shape. Here are some good things to look for in the item descriptions when searching for a reputable seller on half.com or similar sites:
- Region 1 release (or, whatever region you are looking for)
- new, factory-sealed (or shrink-wrapped...same thing)
- information on the particular release: is the seller offering a special or standard edition? How many discs?
- comments like "not a bootleg!!" help also

Also, such sites normally charge less (and in some cases, a LOT less) than some sellers on regular ebay. Just because a movie is OOP doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune on it.
Oh, I'm sorry, you're all standing...here, let me make you a chair!

Is that $22.95 for each or all together? Probably each, right?

Huge Disney Treasures supply at Best Buy!

Post by Owlzindabarn »

Just a tip: I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, and I'm not sure if it was only my local BestBuy, but I went to the one in Thousand Oaks, California yesterday and all of the sudden they had a Gigantic supply of Walt Disney Treasures for sale. They had:

About 15 copies of Chronological Donald # ONE!
About 15 copies of Mickey in BW vol. 2
About 2 copies of Mickey in Color vol. 2
A few copies of Front Lines
A few copies of Tomorrowland

I don't know where they got all those tins, and if they're available at all BestBuys, but if you need them for your collections I suggest you call your local BestBuy and see what's what... :)

Wichita has two Best Buy and they both have a supply of the Tins...........they even managed to dig up some of the older First Wave tins, so I managed to get a Silly Symphonies w/Tin for $24.99.

They have:

Mickey in B/W Vol. 2
Mickey in Color Vol. 2
Chronological Donald Vol. 1
Davy Crockett
Adventures in Tomorrowland
Chronological Donald Vol. 2
The Complete Goofy
The Complete Pluto Vol. 1
At The Front Lines

They all of the above titles in good supply, some of the earlier Waves like One and Two they had only two of three copies........Davy Crockett had about 15, The Complete Goofy, more than 10.

Please let us know what your Best Buy has.

Damn. Figures something like this would come up when I can't get to a Best Buy. I hate living so far away from one. Sigh.

Hmm I just had a thought. Maybe I can call them tomorrow to see if they had any in stock and if they do than I can see if my mom or dad can stop there after work and pick it up seeing as Friday is my birthday.

Whoa, looks like I'm going to Best Buy this weekend. If I can find Mickey Mouse in Living Color: Volume 2 anywhere, I will pick it up without hesitation.

I would love to be able to find a Goofy for my nephew. The Davey Crockett is quite a find too.

Well that explains the recent increase in the number of Complete Goofy's for sale on Ebay. I'll try Best Buy instead.

Thanks Owlzindabarn!
...and so you two are absolutely identical? You know I'm sure I can get you a part in Toy Story 3... I'm sorry. Are we back? All right girls...lovely talking to you.

Hmmm, well since the Best Buy at COlorado Springs has got to get the award for "Worst Best Buy ever", I don't think it'll have it.

However, I'll see if they have any near me in California! Maybe they'll have a few at Disneyland.

There's a Best Buy near me, although I'm in Canada so it may not have got any stock of Treasures in. I'll have to check this weekend.
