But is it the original blue logo in its entirety, including the score?

I haven't watched Bambi II, and probably never will as I can't afford to buy it as my priority are the animated classics, and it's not available for rental.

I'm going to see POTC2 tonight. I can't wait to see it. Mike Gabriel & the rest of the staff did a fabulous job.

I have the "Bambi 2" DVD, it has the original blue logo shown after the end credits.

Okay, I give you that, but still it's AFTER the film and WITHOUT the original score.

Jeremy wrote:And I have to ask: why can't they customize the new logo? They have customized other companies' logos as well although they are quite detailed logos, too. For example WB, 20'th Century Fox and some others. I can't see why Disney should be exception.
Well, the old logo was a symbol basically. The new one is a complete environment. Where as it was easy to change the colour, material or background of the old one, it won't be so easy on this one.

The Warner Bros. "shield" is still a symbol. The only detailing is the cloudy sky, which can easily be removed. Fox's "searchlights" are admittedly more details, but still a symbol. Generally, altering of the Fox logo has been superimposing something on the front such as snow, or simply changing the colour.

The new Disney logo will not only will it require a re-render, but how would you make it applicable to say, Home on the Range or even Pirates of the Caribbean? All you can do is change the background. You can't have the castle flying through the air, not when the animation required the moat/lake to work. Likewise, you can't make it neon (because it has 3D form), place it underwater (it needs the water below it) or even have it printed on another surface (because it has a 3D form). If in the end you have to remove most of the new additions just to keep the symbolic castle, then what's the point of having the new logo in the first place?

Please don't tell me the only alterations we'll see are the typically lazy "falling snow" for The Santa Clause III.

It's a shame, as I love altered studio logos. But I really see the potential for that rapidly decreased with the new logo.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Maybe Disney should have, rather than changed the logo, changed the "symbol". (as described by 2099net).

A redesign of the 2D castle, maybe... along with the placement of the words "Walt Disney". Or you could start from scratch. Keep th "Walt Disney Pictures" fonts, but put them in a different context, without the castle (though I'd hate that).

By the way, Is there a video of the new "Walt Disney Pictures" logo which is in AVI, MPEG or any format that I would find to download on other sites? I don't see it. If the DVD comes out in a few months, I want to see that logo again.

I just saw POTC 2 and I think that it was a good idea the new logo. Somehow it makes me remember those old Disney shows and specials.

Besides is great! n_n

Hi Mermaid Kelly! :) This is the first time I'm replying directly to you. I saw your pictures on the Put a Name with a Face thread. You look pretty and sweet, and you really look like Ariel with the red hair. :)

Julian Carter, I see you changed your avatar to a better one featuring a spoof of the Walt Disney Pictures old logo called Julian Carter Pictures.

I got my avatar of the old logo, but I don't change anything at all. As for your avatar, I'll put it on the Playground CLG photo site from Yahoo! Groups.

The link wouldn't work for me. It keeps saying "The page cannot be displayed". Do you think you could post it again please? :)

Yes! And so does "Tinkerbell" with Britanny Murphy as the voice of Tink. Don't forget "Invincible".

Thanks for the link, waltdisney123! I am amazed with the new logo when I watched POTC 2 in a local theatre. I want to watch the new logo again, but I'm kinda lazy to watch POTC 2 again. And with this link, I can watch the new logo again and again and again and again!

That must have been filmed from the back of a theatre.
