I think that you should just buy the movie. It would be expensive now because it's been a couple years since it's last printing. And we will probably not have another until Fantasia comes out in all of it's Platinum Edition glory (I'll DEFINTELY be picking this up!). Anyway, I still think that you should just buy the movie. You can see the "Firebird Suite" and all of the other segments on Fantasia 2000. This is just IMO

I second TheSequelofDisney's opinion.
(Would that be a sequel to a sequel's post about a sequel? Crazy!)
Fantasia 2000 is one of Disney's best movies, and I actually enjoy it more than the illustrious original. If you can find The Fantasia Anthology for a decent price anywhere, you really should pick it up.

Unfortunately, the Platinum Editions don't always prove to be particularly great, and the existing 3-disc set is already pretty fantasic. The only improvements needed to it are perhaps some 16x9 transfers of things like Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom (even though this already should've been done for the Disney Rarities treasure, that's another thread), and the addition of the actual, totally uncut version of Fantasia.TheSequelofDisney wrote:And we will probably not have another until Fantasia comes out in all of it's Platinum Edition glory (I'll DEFINTELY be picking this up!). Also, an IMAX and IMAX 3D re-release of Fantasia 2000 would be nice.
On a related note, I recently saw 2 copies of Fantasia 2000 in a local music/movie store here in Toronto. I didn't note the price, though, since I already had the 3-disc set. However, I did think it was odd. For a while I thought perhaps Disney had quietly reissued the single-disc versions of the movies, but I guess they were just extra copies that'd been floating around for a while.
If the store still has them next time I'm back, I'll check on the price. If it's reasonable, and you really want the thing, it may be a cheaper alternative than eBay for you.
