The small bird isn't on the cover (I forgot the name) and the Catepillar (sp? Don't know the name either) isn't either. Aren't they the comic relief? I haven't seen this movie in awhile, but I will be getting it on October 10th. Tod does look off-model, Copper does too, a little. Too bad that the movie will be presented in 1.33:1. Couldn't Disney just ask someone that worked on the movie to see what the correct aspect ratio is? Or did they do that already?

Thanks Finch! I wonder why the other bird (I'm bad with names) is on there, and Dinky and Squeaks aren't?Finchx0rz wrote:Dinky is the small bird, Squeaks is the caterpillar.TheSequelofDisney wrote:The small bird isn't on the cover (I forgot the name) and the Catepillar (sp? I'm also hoping for better features, but of course with the artwork that seems to be pleasing everybody for the most part must come nitpicks that only the obsessive fans of UD can point out.
I love the art as well and also thinks Tod looks a little different (not new with Disney DVD art. Sleeping Beauty, anyone?). But is anyone else bugged that it says "Walt Disney's" rather than "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" or "Disney's" (referring to the company and not the man on The Rescuers) or simply a "Walt Disney" logo? Not a fan of the latter, but it's been used before on The Great Mouse Detective and the original Tarzan DVDs.
I would of course prefer "Walt Disney Productions Presents" as this is the last animated feature that carries that opening, The Aristocats being the first, but live action films from the period at least have "Walt Disney Pictures" as part of their cover art.
I know it's a pretty anal thing to notice, but I'm sure there are members on this board that would at least be perturbed if not upset from a collector's standpoint by the "Walt Disney's" heading when most of us know that, with the exception of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which included shorts Walt was a part of, the last animated classic he personally worked on was The Jungle Book.

What would this wretched world be like without Disney?

It could be a combination of both. Have all video releases of The Fox and the Hound had the picture cropped the same way? If so, is it possible that 1,33:1 actually is the ratio in which the film has been shot and shown originally?Disneykid wrote:Apparently on all releases, some shots look open matte while others look cropped. Which is it?

The artwork on the ad seems to be reused from the Black Diamond Classic edition from the mid-90s. Plus, I agree that Tod looks off-model on the new DVD cover. Plus, since it was from after Disney's death, it should read "Disney's" or "Walt Disney" or "Walt Disney Productions'" instead of "Walt Disney's." Under the Classics series, it was labeled as "A Walt Disney Classic."

I am kind of bothered by that, yeah. Perhaps some revised coverart will be released in the future.Sulley wrote:But is anyone else bugged that it says "Walt Disney's" rather than "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" or "Disney's" (referring to the company and not the man on The Rescuers) or simply a "Walt Disney" logo?
I seem to recall the "Walt Disney's" title appearing on another DVD for a movie that Walt wasn't involved in either, but I can't remember which one. Can anyone confirm that for me?
