Wow, that's gorgeous! I can hardly wait to see the rest leading up to it.Escapay wrote:Here's the image from Hollywood Reporter...
I must say, it's very impressive. I still have yet to see POTC:DMC, so I can't fully judge it, but if it's that spectacular in a still image, can't wait to see it in full motion...

Hopefully it joins those two plus the DreamWorks (ive action one) and the current Warner Bros. logo as ones that I love, instead of the terrible new logos for Paramount, DreamWorks Animation and Touchstone that I absolutly hate. The still image is still growing on me, not the biggest fan of it yet, but I haven't seen DMC yet, so I'm not going to judge it too much yet. Just wondering about a few things, does it still have that arc that forms around the castle and two is there any music to it, and if so who wrote the new score? I'm hoping that it's Michael Giacchino, who's already among the best living composers, and has done quite a number of projects at Disney. I'm still wondering if they'll keep the Pixar version for future Pixar films, I'm betting they will, but who knows? they might surprise us and use the new logo on all future films, including those from Pixar.BrandonH wrote:I love the new logo. It's in the same class as the current Fox and Universal logos; all of them fill me with joy and anticipation for the movie.

I saw POTC: DMC & saw the new Disney Logo. I really liked it! Not that I don't like the blue-background-with-the-castle-made-out-of-bars, or anything like that, but I really like the new logo & I think that it's an improvement over this last logo

Yes, yes, YES!
I saw the new logo early this morning (opening of POTC 2) and I LOVED it! It's really beautiful and magical. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Go ahead and laugh, I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I've been looking around for a better image of the logo, and I came upon this. They claim it's a shot by shot view of the new logo. Here's the pic and tell me if it is in fact a nice little storyboard-like image of the animated logo.

Some looks a little fake, but if that's how the actual logo looks, than it looks really nice (but still version can be misleading, when I first saw the new Paramount logo in a still, I like it, but when I saw the animation to it, I absolutly hated it). I wouldn't be able to tell until I see DMC, which wouldn't be until next weekend at the earliest.

I have no idea where that's from, but that's not it. Compare that to the pic posted a few posts above you. The new logo takes place at sunset. You start by looking at an early dusk sky. The camera dips down through the clouds and glides backwards over a river with villages representing various Disney films on either side of it. As you continue to pull back, you see the castle against the blue and pink sky. The words Walt Disney Pictures appears in pixie dust on the bottom and a trail of pixie dust arches over the castle afterwards.

Behind the new Walt Disney Pictures Logo!
Now you'll get to go through the back door of the new Walt Disney Pictures Castle.

I was nervous about this move. I don't like change and I was against it from the start. But when I saw this for the first time, my jaw hit the floor. I was amazed. It was so beautiful. And I have to say that I approve.

Where did you get these pics of the logo from? I've never seen that one before. Is that from the opening credits to "The Wild?"Buzz Lightyear wrote:I've been looking around for a better image of the logo, and I came upon this. They claim it's a shot by shot view of the new logo. Thanks for posting the link to the story. It says they worked on it for over a year! As others have said, it is really beautiful.Disney Duster wrote:Now you'll get to go through the back door of the new Walt Disney Pictures Castle.

I know the pics that Buzz Lightyear posted was a joke.
I posted the 7th pic from the CLG group which is part of the Yahoo! Groups. Buzz, did you see "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" with the new logo that Escapay posted that pic? That logo you made that up was a joke, it doesn't look right.

I'm so curious about the logo buzz lightyear posted. Where did he get it from?
If you look closely, you can see that it's a CGI version of the OLD logo, like the CGI version that appeared in Chicken Little, that, although it was in CGI, was based on the old logo.
However, buzz lightyear's logo has 'PICTURES' written in Times New Roman, like the new logo. It's quite confusing, It's got elements from the new and old logo.
Honestly though, buzz lightyear's logo is also lovely.
