Santa Clause 2 Special Edition?

Post by Swiss »

Will there be a Special Edition of TSC2? I just can't do that "nine copies of a Disney movie" deal anymore. Artisan nailed me good with Stargate, with standard, then special and then Ultimate.

What's coming out in a couple of weeks is pretty much all you can expect unless a third movie is made somewhere down the line. It's got deleted scenes and commentary in addition to the fluff, so it actually sounds like a pretty decent disc, at least better than the very lame thing that was actually called a "Special Edition" of the original movie.

I still can't wait to add this one to my Christmas Collection. Hopefully though, this will be the only version for a couple of years. I know the feeling of buying multiple copies because one offers more.

Can't imagine Santa Clause 2 will be re-released on DVD, maybe it will come out in 5-6 years when Disney will release their movies onto a new HD format.

The Santa Clause was reissued because it got a very sucky non-anamorphic, barebones DVD the first time around. They just timed it to take advantage of the sequel. Granted, except for the upgraded transfer, the new Santa Clause disc is pretty sucky, too, from what I've heard, so :-P. The sequell, however, seems to have a pretty decent amount of extras, as well as (obviously) a 16x9 transfer. When "SC3" is released (Tim Allen is under contract for it, I believe), they'll probably just give the exsisting disc a new push and put a free ticket to SC3 in newly pressed copies. But, no, I don't think the movie will be revisited until HD-DVD.
