enigmawing's fanart
Hi there! Just thought I'd post some of my Disney-based fanart here, hope you enjoy! All of these thumbnails are clickable:

~Bonnie from Kim Possible as Catwoman, KP and Shego as Powerpuff Girls, KP and I in the style of the show, and KP with a couple of my original characters in the style of the show. For the heck of it I included the original sketches.
As you can see, sometimes I make changes to the sketches when I get to the inking/coloring stage, which I do with Corel Paint Shop Pro X. Heh, you can see that I've been on a Kim Possible kick lately, as I've enjoyed the challenge of trying to draw in the elusive style of Steven Silver (which is not as simple as it looks). The last two have backgrounds I grabbed off some screen caps of a DVD.

An artists from Kim Possible Land?
All your work is very good! You have certainly captured the style and look of Kim Possible's characters! However, I think that Will, though very good, looks a little off in the pictures where she's facing you. Maybe it's the eyes and the placement of the facial features. Jack Sparrow's rendering is very well drawn but it doesn't capture him. Also, Esmeralda's eyes don't make her look like the cool, calm heroine I remember. It's a very good drawing, she just looks a bit ditzy. Pocahontas, Kida, and Elastigirl are almost perfection and your drawings have captured their characters. All together, very well done.
I can't really comment on Abby because I've never seen Chicken Little.

Hehe...when I saw the thumbnails I was about to reply with "These actually look professional!", but I guess you already beat me to it.271286 wrote:Beautiful and VERY professional... This is probably the nicest fanart I have ever seen... Great work...![]()
I really love the Elastigirl/Helen Parr drawing.

I'm offering a long overdue thanks for all the replies, so. . . thank you so much!!!
Here's a few randomly Disney-related ones I've done recently:

I think I might have posted the line art of Ariel a long time ago. . . it was actually drawn over three years ago and colored with markers and colored pencils sometime later. I recently tweaked it a bit and digitally colored the background.
The KP Bunny was an attempt to make something as sugary-sweet and cute as humanly possible. . . watch out for cavities!
The Sailor Moon was done in the style of KP and was an attempt of merging two of my favorite shows.
Hope you enjoy.

Always LOVED your work, which I've been following on other sites! I LOVE Kim Possible and Sailor Moon, so I REALLY dig that combo piece! How do you post the pics right on this forum? I mean, where are you linking them from? Is it a free image hosting site, and if so, which one? I need to learn to do it.

I've been using www.imageshack.us . . . it's free and they automatically provide thumbnails (your choice on whether or not to use them) and several different kinds of code to cut and paste onto sites and forums.
Here is an example of the codes they provide you with:

To post the full-sized pic directly on a forum page like this, use the first code. To post a thumbnail linking to another page will the full-sized pic (like I've been doing on this thread) use the fifth code. To make a simple link, use the last one.
Hope this helps.

Woah, I forgot this old thread existed!
Lots and lots of changes since then.
I've pretty much been in a huge artistic slump these past couple of years. Oh, I've still been drawing, just not with the drive and motivation I used to possess. I went through some difficult times and I think it sucked the life right out of me. Hopefully I can re-immerse myself into doing more art now that I feel I'm finally beginning to recover.
It's a little strange to look back at this thread actually, two whole years have passed and I think my work now has a different feel. I've recently put the paper and pencils away and switched to the flexibility of drawing digitally on a tablet. I also hope my more recent experiences has added a small level of depth and sincerity that is lacking in my older work.
It's been ages since I've tried any real Disney fanart so I thought I'd go ahead and share the piece I finished last night. . .

I tried to add a little bit of my own style and flair to her, hope you enjoy. If you'd like to check out a larger version, go here and click on "download."
Thanks to everyone for all their comments (yeah, I know it's been ages, lol) and thanks to everyone for looking.

Wow, thanks!blackcauldron85 wrote:That's beautiful, enigmawing!!! It looks just like a professional Disney drawing! My husband & I are curious, though, about the tablet drawing...I've seen tablets for computers, but how does it work?
As for the tablets, you use them in a similar fashion you'd use a mouse; it's just another way to control the cursor on your screen. The tablet itself represents your computer monitor and is able to sense where you place your stylus. The stylus has a tip that is sensitive to pressure, allowing you to control the thicknessof your lines as you draw them. Since you hold it like a pencil/pen/brush, it has the feel of a more traditional art tool than you could ever get with the likes of the mouse.
I've drawn with a mouse before, but it's very difficult to create line work beyond pixel art. I used to do all my digital coloring with either the mouse or touch-pad, but now that I have the tablet it's so much easier to handle.
Some people say it takes a while to get used to drawing on one surface and having the artwork appear on another, but what I initially had trouble with was getting used to drawing on such a smooth surface!
Anyway, hope I didn't make this too confusing, I've always found this a little hard to explain without sitting right there with someone and just showing them.

LOVE the new (Giselle) one! And I'm a really big fan of any Kim Possible work you ever do, ha.
Personally, I got a small tablet a while ago, and maybe it's too small (got it for free though), but I have yet to be comfortable drawing with it. I actually have gotten more used to the mouse, and I use the tablet when I have trouble with the mouse, but for me the best thing is still to draw with pencil and paper, scan that, and then trace it on the computer using the mouse and sometimes the tablet. I'm old-fashioned I guess, ha. I hardly every do any finished, color work non-digitally now though. It's just so much easier and cleaner to work with color through a computer.

Thank you very much! I haven't drawn KP in a while, maybe I should go back to her sometime.
And nothing wrong with being "old-fashioned," there's still something to be said about working with more traditional tools.
Sometimes I feel a little guilty for switching over to digital art almost entirely, but as you've said it's easier and cleaner to work with color through the computer.
I'd heard so many stories about how people that tried tablets either loved or hated them. I used to doubt I'd like drawing with them myself, although I felt it might be nice to have one for coloring and shading. I had mine for about a year before I even hooked it up; it was a gift from my boyfriend, but I wasn't drawing much at the time and wasn't really interested in experimenting with something new. Well, sort of a gift, he'd actually bought it for himself long before he met me but lost interest in playing around with it.
When I felt ready to try it I found I didn't like the smooth surface. I totally felt I had no control over what I was doing either but kept pushing myself. Mine is rather small; the drawing surface is only 4" x 5" but that actually ended up suiting me since I rarely make big, broad strokes with my tools. After a few weeks of attempting draw and write it began to feel as natural as a pencil on paper, and after a lot more practice I began to appreciate the flexibility that drawing directly into Photoshop offers. It's so easy to resize either the whole drawing or specific areas, move lines around, erase, etc., plus I don't need gloves to keep from "smudging" the drawing.
