Today, I decided that I wanted to watch Superman: The Movie, before going to see Superman Returns. It's been years since I've seen the original. Not having Superman: The Movie on DVD, and being fully aware that a new DVD is on the way, I decided I would rent it. However, Best Buy has it on sale for $7.99. I read some reviews on the DVD release that is currently available. I decided I might as well pick it up, since it is so cheap. I am sure I'll end up doing the double dip when the Ultimate box set is released, but, this will hold me over. Plus, I picked up a few points for the ol' Best Buy Reward Zone card.

I haven't bought any of these for a while now, so I was about overdue. My Target was having a Disney sale, so I picked up a whole lot of stuff for $44.95 Australian (or $33 US dollars).
Disney Princess Stories Volume 2: I don't even have Volume 1, but it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Volume 3 comes out here next week, and they didn't have 1.
Jasmine's Enchanted Tales - Journey of a Princess: Similar to above, this one isn't available in the US (to my knowledge), but takes episodes from the Aladdin TV series.
Kim Possible - So The Drama (Top Secret Extended Edition): Gotta love a action packed redhead!
Kim Possible - The Villain Files: Don't you ever wish that the characters from your TV would come to life and be your friends? Anybody? No? Ok, it's just me then.
Dining Out With Timon & Pumba: One of 3 DVDs available in Australia that feature episodes from the TV series.

If they have cash to spare, this little Aussie wouldn't mind a trip to Disneyland...MickeyMousePal wrote:I have my way since my parents give me tons of money as you can see.

Last night, after watching Superman Returns, I made a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up some things I needed, and also hoping to pick up the DVD of Superman II. I dug completely through the dump bin, with no luck. I did, however, find the DVD of a movie that I've loved since I first saw it. Cocoon. I was able to pick it up for $5.50. Not bad! I finally found someone who worked in electronics, and asked if they had Superman II. He said that it had not been shipped with their latest batch of bargain titles. Oh, well. I'll just wait to pick it up when the Ultimate Box set is released.

Using my Reward Zone card I picked up at Best Buy today:
The Matador with Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear. Very good movie, and very much anticipated by me for its release. I will watch it before I go to work today.

I decided that I HAD to buy the documentary Look, Up In The Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman (2-Disc Limited Edition). I saw the documentary on A&E, last night, and decided then that I had to have it on DVD. I'm looking forward to watching Bryan Singer's Video Journals!
I forgot to mention that I got extremely lucky. Since I didn't pick this up, when it was first released, I didn't know if Best Buy would have any of the Limited Edition left. When I went in, last week, I didn't see any. So, during lunch, today, I called to see if they had any. Luckily, the guy found the only copy of the Limited Edition they had left. I asked if he would hold it for me, and he said yes. I ran to the store, immediately, and picked it up. I used the Reward Zone card, and got some more points!

High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman [R2] at last, after several release date slips. Well worth the wait. Everyone on Shirley Ghostman thinks he is a real psychic, but really he's actor/comedian Marc Wootton.
Just watching the Spirit Academy section of the first episode. A real-life would be psychic is holding a tea-pot and being tested by Ghostman.
Ghostman [Shouting]: BUT WHAT'S IT FOR?
Psychic: [Puzzled expression while holding a teapot]
Ghostman: What's it for? What's it for?
Psychic: Making coffee?
Ghostman: Close, but it involves tea leaves
Psychic: [Even more puzzled expression - totally perplexed]
Ghostman [clapping]: You're through to the next round!
Sadly, most of the other stuff is just too rude or outrageous for printing here.
The 2 High Spirits discs come with a selection of extras. Deleted Scenes, XFM Radio Interview, BBC3 trailers, Animations, Storyboards, Commentary on two episodes, including in-character Shirley Ghostman commentary, Photo Gallery, Behind the Scenes.
It also features a bonus disc of My New Best Friend. Result. But that too includes extras: Director's Gallery Feed[?], Commentary with Marc Wootton, Deleted Scenes.
It may not be to everyone's taste (its more of the dark, sick comedy I enjoy, and it makes fools out of the public) but nobody can deny Wootton is an exceptional character actor.
I also got Cyderdelic again starring Marc Wootton in a similar play a character/fool the public role.
Ghostman [singling out woman in the audience]: Don't worry dear. No one blames you. You deserved that holiday. You needed that holiday, nobody can deny that. It's not your fault. How did you know the dog couldn't feed itself?
