gotta find this disneyland park TV special

Post by plmbob »

I am trying to find a TV special that was filmed in the late sixties or early seventies. It was similar to the Disneyland after dark special, but featured an olde Donnie Osmond, Kurt Russel, and other stars romping around the park. I saw it a few times on the old disney channel (when it rocked in the late 80's), but haven't seen it in years. If anyone knows what it was called and where I can find it I would be most grateful.

Nope. It's on neither.

I have the copy of "Disneyland Showtime" on my DVD-R where a young Kurt Russell along with the Osmonds are spenting the day at Disneyland going on every Disney attraction and then ended up in the Haunted Mansion. That was a great special. I might put this up on YouTube one day.

I don't remember the other two songs. You described the rest of the program right. Maybe they did another one with Kurt Russel? I know they definitely sang "Down on the Corner" while on the Main Street double decker bus, "This Land is Your Land" with Kids of the Kingdom, and an evening concert featuring (I don't know if these are the actual song titles) "Golden Rainbow," "The Age of Aquarius," "Let the Sun Shine," and probably something else. Also, EJ Peaker from Hello, Dolly! sang "Walking Happy" when on the Riverboat and a song where she's waiting for a guy to call her on the phone. I can't think of what they'd call it. At the end Kurt Russel shows them the Making of the Haunted Mansion and they all ride it.
