Of course it's going to have a happy ending. I'll bet my life on it, lol.

Disney Duster wrote:Many people think this is a silly plot, but considering the first movie was about using magic to make Cinderella's dreams come true, it's rather fitting(pun intended...get it, glass slipper, fitting?) that the last movie in this trilogy will be about using that same magic to make her dreams end(until an inevitable happy conclusion).
I agree! The plot when first announced sounded extremely ridiculous, but after that explanation it makes sense. It's like a Villain Tale (rather than Fairy tale).
Disney Duster wrote:Didn't you hear lady Tremaine say, "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo"? Lady Tremaine steals the fairy godmother's magic wand and uses it to turn back time, and that information can be found if you go here and read the whole page.

The plot has also been described as "Cinderella's alternate reality", which can be found here.
I'm pretty sure we've discussed this before (searches, cool! Google found it...Ah, here it is; the topic we discussed exactly a year and a few days ago: Cinderella III: Twice Charmed?).

For those of you too lazy to read a whole topic...I remember reading that Cinderella III may be based on Disney Cruise Line's musical Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story. ETA: Forgot what I meant to say in the post! Anyhow, in this show, Lady Tremaine gets help from a Fairy Godfather who is evil and can turn back time and is the comedic character of the show.

After more googling, I found from the official site, a short QuickTime video clip of some snippets of some of the music. From the little heard, it's hard to judge, but the songs sound pretty good! I wonder if the animated version will have the same songs. The song about "Chasing a dream" sounds pretty good! Lol, it was also bizarre to see a blonde Prince Charming.

LaungingPlace.com's Pictures...there's a lot and the intro looks awesome with the scrim and animation and actors put together! (Check out the video clips on the first page, too!) :thumb: very cool

My thoughts exactly.

As others here probably know, I'm not a fan of the original Cinderella(in fact I rank it somewhere between 35-45 when ranking the animated classics) and one of the reasons is Lady Tremaine. Is she really that "evil"? Cruel and unkind, yes. But like Governor Ratcliffe, she's not evil really, I mean the worst thing she's done was lock someone in a room temporality. Now, though, it looks like with the ability to travel in time, it looks like she can be a really threatning villian. In fact, she may actually be closer in achieveing her plans than the Queen from Snow White and Maleficent did.

Of course, it could still have problems. While I do like the idea of "time-travel", it has to be used catiously or else it can leave loads of flaws(Back to the Future Part II, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban(though the book does a better job than the movie)). And of course, even from the short teaser, it looks predictable (who wants to bet Prince Charming will say something cliched liked "Somehow in my heart, I felt like it was to love you Cinderella") but still when compared to a lot of Disney's DTV's, this one has some potential. I'm looking forward to it.

About Prisoner of Azkaban, was it the inconsistency of things happening the second time around different from the first time when it should be the same? Because the book and movie, IMO, both do a good job. I especially thought the rock thing was clever to show us it was Hermione who got their attention of Fudge coming. All the book does to show how the future already changed time the first time through was with Harry which confused me till the day I saw Azkaban in theatres.

About Cinderella 3, I'm guessing the easiest way to have the stepmother get her hand on the Fairy Godmother's magic is by her visiting Cinderella and leaving her wand somewhere for the stepmother to steal. Then everyone comes back in to find the stepmother with the wand in her hand and to their sursprise, she turns back time. Oddly, I don't know where in the world the stepmother would learn how to use it nor does she know Cinderella have a Fairy Godmother at all.

A blonde Prince Charming?! I thought he had brown hair but I guess not(besides, the cast changes from time to time in shows).

Anyway, Kram Nebuer I couldn't find that QuickTime video on the page the link lead to. Can you help me find it? I'd really like to see it.

And for those who care, here's a whole lot of information I found out:
  • The movie's full title might be "Cinderella III: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo", but at this page on Amazon.com, a book coming out for the movie suggests that the movie's full title might be "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time".

Tami Tappan will be the singing voice of Cinderella, and she sang for Cinderella on "The Princess Tea Party Album", meaning that she sang "Every Girl Can Be A Princess" in that music video on the Cinderella DVD, since that song is from the album. I found this here.

The DVD will probably be released in February 2007. I found that out here.

It is a shame we don't get to see any actual footage from the film (which makes me question the authenticity of the trailer, especially being on You Tube, but let us just assume this is legit)...

...LOVE the idea.

As a comic-book collector for years, some of the best stories I've read are "What If.." stories. Alternate timelines and parallel universes all make great science fiction and fantasy stories alike because they play with what we already know and turn it on its head. This is what the best sequels (Lady & the Tramp II, for example) have done so far: taken the familiar and done a role reversal. This is the next logical step and a great CONCEPT. Am excited to see what the execution is like.

Also, it must be said again: if you are complaining about the animation at this point, you are complaining about the original Cinderella's animation. Go and wash your mouths out with soap. :D

Oh, it's definitely legit. This trailer appeared on the R1 Cinderella DVD. Disney usually releases teaser trailers for their sequels that simply reuse clips from the original. I guess it's to warn - I mean notify us that the sequel's coming even though the film itself may still be in storyboard phase.

I don't mind the look of this, I'm glad they still used Lady Tremaine and the original characters, and not Lady Tremaine's randomly appearing sister or something.

I liked it when the narrator voice said 'what if the slipper didn't fit?' I just thought that was funny for some reason...

Whoa, I didn't know about the list feature! Awesome! Very interesting facts, btw. I like the 2nd title better; it better explains what the movie is about. I guess the first one would be cooler if you can hear Lady Tremaine read "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo," then it'll be understandable and chilling.

Anyhow, yeah I guess the actor was blonde or my eyes need fixin'. I always thought they had wigs for them, no matter what. Oh well...

But I'm confused. How did you not see it? It's very hard to miss:

If you still can't find it of it just isn't loading, there's a longer clip with dialogue, but lesser quality. It's available for download in the last link I provided with pictures: http://www.laughingplace.com/Lotion-View-91-1.asp

Thank you, Kram Nebuer! But, for some reason I just get a still picture of the whole cast in the place where the video should be. It might just have to do with my computer being a Mac. A lot of times Disney only makes things work for PCs(like their downloadable games...grrrr).

But I did watch the video at Laughing Place and it was pretty cool. I really loved the instrumental music in the beginning...

Fairy nuff.

I still say that I'm intrigued at the idea at this point. As I said above, the "What if..." is so comic book/science fiction that it is right up my alley.

Actually, there's an idea for a new Disney TV show: a series of 'what ifs'. What if Ariel had stayed under the sea? What if Mufasa had lived? What if Bambi's mum had lived? What if Stitch stayed evil and took over the world? The possibilities are endless!

It is the constant challenging and reinterpretation of tales that keeps them alive for future generations.

What if: Marie was never rescued by Tomas O'Malley? The Sword never came out of the Stone? Eric never killed Ursula? The Black Cauldron turned Maroon? Simba never found Hakuna Matata? Belle never fell in love with the Beast? Pocahontas never met John Smith? Snow White never took a bite out of the Apple? Hercules never met Phil? Dumbo never got drunk? Lady never met the Tramp? Peter Pan never defeated Captain Hook? Tinker Bell started talking and sounded like Brittany Murphy? Pinocchio never became a real boy? Alice never got to Wonderland? Pongo never met Perdita? Basil was never a Detective, but was a Janitor?

I was watching the trailer, and I wondered... is that Susan Blakeslee (sp?) as the voice of Lady Tremain? I hope so, because she's perfect as the Disney Villanesses. I believe she's played Maleficent (Kingdom Hearts, House of Villains), Cruella DeVil (101 Dalmatians 2, House of Villains), and Lady Tremain (Cinderella 2). I hope they don't have someone else playing her.

Exactly.

Far-fetched, yes -- but astounding none-the-less.

I will have to chop off my fingers as punishment for typing this up, but I would love that, simply as Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain.

Based on the trailer, I think Cinderella III will be far better than Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. Though the plot is a little weird, it's also interesting, which fascinates me.

There's one thing that annoys me!!

Cinderella III has a '3' at the end.

If it's a '3', that means it's acknowledgeing the existence of '2'.

'2' must be 'Dreams Come True'

But I want 'Dreams Come True' destroyed and not 'part' of the trilogy. :x

Who agrees with me!?

I cant believe im actually going to say this.........but im actually quite interested in this, i know its just re-used animation and stuff but i do actually think this sequel is having some effort put into it, much like Lion King 3 did. :)
