I'm thinking of trying for my driving permit again

You have nothing to feel bad about, Tabbi. I'm 19 going on 20 and even though I've had my learner's permit for three years, I still don't have my actual license, nor can I even really drive. Partly it's because I, too, am kind of scared of driving, and partly it's a money issue. What scares me most about driving isn't the other drivers; it's myself. I have slow reflexes and tend to get distracted/zone out easily, both of which can be lethal on the road. As for money, it's really tight in my family right now, and there's no point in taking driver's ed courses and getting my official license until I have a car. My parents always need their cars, so I can't really make do with those, but even if I could, I'd prefer not to since as paranoid a newbie driver as I am, I'm even worse if it's someone else's car. I don't see myself getting my license or car for at least another six months or so, which by that time I'll be 20.

Ok thats the same with me. My whole reasoning for being scared. Though also because I'm a bit scared of the other cars. But its mostly cause of myself.

Well, it just is. I always envisioned, Senior Citizens (old people) to only like playing chess, and wash dishes, and do laundry, and well, sleep, a lot. Not be a Disney fanatic. It's just odd to me.

As it's been said here age is just a number, and something like the appeal of Disney can't be bound by that.

Plus you can't stereotype people into who they are or what they do because of their age. Heck, I'm 30 here, and I appreciate animation more now than I when I was a kid. I don't ever see myself losing my interest in Disney and other cartoons no matter how old I live to be.

Why not wait 'til your a senier citizen yourself, and find out? It sounds to me as if you could use the experience. How old are you, anyway?

And, just for my own personal edification, is there anyone out there who likes doing dishes or laundry? Geez...

Poor TSoD! You guys, relax. I was a little freaked out by his comment too, but I know he still has a lot to learn. He's just entering high school afterall. At his age I still held a lot of stereotypes. Overall, it's something we shouldn't do, but unfortunately learn to do and learn to get rid of. Age really shouldn't matter in most aspects in life whether it be learning to drive past 21 or loving Disney movies past 60. The only instance I would think age matters is if the very young are doing adult things like watching South Park while still in elementary school or worse...driving! (just trying to stay on topic

Guilty! Actually just the dishes part. I used to hate doing them especially if they are crusted with yucky leftovers that didn't make it to the tupperware. But now I like doing them because I know it makes my parents happy that we are helping around the house. Also, it's a lot more fun when you have your headphones on and listening to music, especially Disney music

. I find a lot of times I don't make the time to just sit down and listen to music so I listen to my mp3 player when doing chores. Laundry does suck though. It's a little better if you're listening to music but it's still a pain in the butt. I listened to the whole first act of "Disney's On the Record" just folding laundry. Though we shouldn't complain! At least it doesn't take 3 days anymore!

TSoD- Hope you didn't take any of that the wrong way, please just try to see other people's points of view. And Kram- I don't think there was an overreaction. . . comments seemed pretty calm to me.

Nothing to get freaked out over here. I understand that TSoD is young and I also remember how I was at that age. There's plenty of time ahead for life experience. I think true maturity resides with admitting that we're not always, well, mature.

Well, I'm 32 now, and although I've learned quite a bit during those 18 years since I was 14, my preferences and interests haven't really changed that much. I won't be 66 for another 34 years, but based on what I've seen so far, I'd expect very much of my present-day self to be left even by then.

I'm eighteen an though I've had my permit for a few years, I still don't have my license. My father is actually pushing me to take the test soon, but I really just don't think I'm going to make it.

I hate driving, I'm too nervous and too spacey, and then more nervous that I'm going to space out and crash. (._______.);;
