I'm leaving...but I'll be back!

Post by Prince Eric »

Well guys, it looks like I'll be absent from the boards for at least six weeks starting the beginning of July. I'm going to be studying abroad in Beijing, China and while I do think I'll have internet access during my stay there, I don't think I'll have the time - the program is academically rigorous and we have a lot planned in terms of things to do. I'm really excited. Going abroad this summer wasn't something I planned on doing. In many ways, I just fell into it. In March, I browsed through my university's study abroad fair. I came to the China booth, was interested, took an application and things just started rolling from there. It really didn't hit me until this week that I'm actually going. During the semester, it was more of a gradual process - fill out the application, pay the program fee, buy the ticket, buy the books, pay for tuition, but now that there's nothing left to do but pack, it's finally set it. I'm nervouse, too, but mostly excited. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a really great time. Anyway, just thought I'd give everyone the heads up. (What will CastleintheSky and TheLittleMerman do without me! ) I'll still be posting in the screening log, and also in that thread, I'm going to post a half-way mark rec-cap for 2006 and next year's Oscar predictions, which I should have done back in March. I hope this place is still intact when I get back!

Well, have a good time in Bejing! I've never been in another country before. Work on you Chinese, and bring us back something! :D Oh yeah, don't get shot, and hopefully you will see all the sites, and get all of your work done. Have a fun time!

Wonderful! Hope you have an excellent time, even if it is a study/work/holiday thing.

A friend of mine did a similar thing when we were at university, and he enjoyed it so much that he went back for another few months the following year.

Good luck with it all!

[sarcastic voice]Ooh goodie, another thread dedicated to Prince Eric![/sarcastic voice]

You know Eric, it's why we have this thread right here. Of course, it's co-runed by me, so that's why you probably didn't want to post.
