Finding Nemo - Land Down Under Song

Post by MagicConch »

When I was in the theater I think they played that song "I come from a land down under..." but on the DVD I think it was a different song? Where is that song in the movie? Thanks

It's not in the movie, only in the trailers and Fishy Facts. Awesome song, though.

The only song in Finding Nemo is British star (?) Robbie Williams' rendition of the Bobby Darin oldie Beyond the Sea, which was pulled from a 2001 album of his if I remember correctly. Otherwise, like A Bug's Life and Monsters, Inc., the film relies upon the score to engage the viewer orally, and Thomas Newman rose to the occasion and delivered a really captivating composition that really enhances the film.

I have to say that after a couple more watch-thrus I'm seriously considering purchaisng this soundtrack. The music is great and simply mesmerizing on a few occassions during the film. Would be my first truly "symphony" soundtrack purchase since Jurassic Park in 1993.

It is a really good score, though I think I like his Road to Perdition one better, and maybe Shawshank, too. Including the Men at Work song in the movie would have lifted it a few notches, I think, nonetheless. :)
