Have you ever gone to a theater and had a daylong marathon?

My mother and I have done many a movie marathon, the most probably being about 4 movies in a row. I suppose it's not right to say that we normally only pay for one of these?

I would plan on spending more than that. Also dos your theater do free refills on drinks or popcorn, some do it on larges

Why would you spend more than $65??? I think that's too much as it is, but it's the cheapest way to do it.

About the concession stands: It does free refills, but the food is terrible. When I get food, it's going to be dinner and lunch at somewhere in the food court.

I am embarresed to admit it but my friends and I decided to make a whole day out of it we went from opeining at the 10 am show and watched 9 or 10 movies and did not leave until about 2:30 am. It was a very long day but not real expensive because we were bad (and I don't condone these actions and would not recomend it) and only paid the $5 to get into the original matinee and then we snuck into all the rest. And even worse we took our Snacks and did the free refils on the Drinks. But yes this does make for a very long day especially when you are trying not to get caught. But we did make without getting busted it helps that it is a very big theater and it was a real busy Saturday so alot of people to mix in with. But I have never spoke to anyone who has beet that record, so if anyone has beat this let me know!

9 or 10 movies would take a little more time than that Papa Bear unless you only watched parts of the movies, if most of the movies were 2 hours you would need 20 hours and they try to put time in between showings of movies now to try to empty out the place and get all the theaters clean. Here I have noticed there is about 45 minutes between showings.

We did miss parts of a couple of the movies because of overlap but they had them running pretty much non stop the theater had 24 screens so there was prety much something going at all times. And there was one film that started out pretty lame and just never got any better so we left about 2/3rds the way through and with not watching most of the previews and not staying for the credits most the fils were about an hour and a half. But anyhow was just trying to share an experience not looking to prove anything!

Interesting- you're the second person to say that. Here, they show movies almost back-to-back and like PapaBear said, most of the 24 theater rooms are showing something at any given time and one movie is often showing in multiple rooms with different start times.

24 Theaters in one building. I am sorry but that is not quality theater. I feel sorry that you have to watch movies in such small theaters. Here in Wichita we have THX sound in all 20 screen with 4-story tall screens in most of the theaters. Our smallest theaters seat more than 250 people.

Luxury theaters are the way to go for watching a good movie with great sound. I used to live in a town that had those 'crackerbox' theaters, and they had "Ultra-Stereo" which is a poor man's version of Pro-Logic.

Go to www.WarrenTheaters.com and look at what we have here in Wichita and see if what you have is just as nice. Oh, and notice the ticket prices. They are among the cheapest I have heard about here in UD.

Well our theater is 22 screens, and its smallest theater holds about 265 people, all SS, DD, really clean, good theaters. You could say I'm lucky.

Pfft. Four movies?

Try sitting through 682 minutes of The Lord of the Rings -- all three films, each extended. I thought I was going to die. Thank god we had an intermission.

Also, I saw Memoirs of a Geisha, then Brokeback Mountain and a Brokeback Mountain double-feature (the second showing was free!)

I remember back in 2001 I watch both Planet of the Apes and America's Sweethearts with my two sisters and friends...but that's about it...one of my friends told me he watch all 3 Lords of the Rings back to back to back at the theatres...

June 30-July 1: Spend night here. Plan marathon. Buy tickets.

July 6: Arrive at theater around 11:00am. Have lunch, then see films in this order:

Get snack at concession stand. Wait in line for the main event:

I just found out on June 18th, I'll be doing a 2 movie thing. It's for two of my friends B-days. Because one of theirs is on the 17th, and the others is on the 19th, and they can't celebrate on either day, they are celebrating together on the lone day. We are seeing Nacho Libre and we're not sure what else (possibly Cars or Garfield).

Just Myself I don't rember for what all the shows were but the one that I found lame and hard to sit through was Gun Shy it just did not seem to have much of a point to it.

Can't say that I beat Papa Bear but I have tied it (many times). During the summer the theater always starts showings early & runs 'em late. I've gone from 10am to 2am or so. One ticket. I usually plan it out by bringing the listings from the paper & check off the movies on each side (8 on each). I also write in the running times so I know where something is always showing. For about 7 months when I was dislodged by Hurricane Charlie in Bradenton, Fl I went to a Carmike theater which does not charge people disabled in a wheelchair so it was exceptionally easy there as every time a movie ended I just went back to the office to get a free pass to the next movie. I always bring a backpack full of food & drink to our local theater & had them in the car at the Carmike theater (didn't want to get people mad by having them possibly catch me eating or drinking outside refreshments in a free movie).

I don't think I ever have done this. Never mind, I know I have never done this. The whole disgusting seats, that thousands of people who have sat on, is quite scary to me. I like to be clean, and yet, I somehow get sick. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................................................

I've occasionally gone to see the same movie in one day (I did this for Pirates of the Carribbean and the Incredibles) but have never made it a full day thing. I totally think it would be fun, but I doubt I'd find anyone I know that would be willing to sit all that time.
