They probably will be back. I may have been seeing things but at the end when Magneto is playing chess does look like he moves one of the pieces?

Well if my Dad gets better from his (what may sadly be) flu, or somebody else wants to drop me off I'll go tomorrow. So right now I'm getting ready by watching X-Men (a super-break of a SNL Rerun) and then X2 which BOTH I have seen only parts of. (Shocking I know.)

I had intended to see this film on opening night, but, none of my friends could actually get together. So, we'll be seeing it next week. I'm very excited, because I LOVE X-Men! Anyway, it looks like X3 is cleaning up at the box office, according to MSN.com:

'X-Men' Storms to Record Opening Weekend
May 28, 12:52 PM EST

"X-Men: The Last Stand" stormed to an estimated $107 million three-day opening, the largest ever for Memorial Day weekend and the fourth-biggest in box office history.

Preliminary estimates were released Sunday for the third installment of the series featuring a cast of mutants with names like Storm (Halle Berry), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn).

The 20th Century Fox film opened in 3,690 theaters and grossed a whopping $28,997 per theater.

"People had such a huge awareness of the movie that it just translated into these huge numbers," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Exhibitor Relations.

The film benefited from a huge base of fans who had seen the first two "X-Men" films, plus great marketing and solid reviews, Dergarabedian said.

"This is what the summer is all about," he said, adding the box office has rebounded well since last year's slump. "With `Da Vinci Code' doing better than anticipated ... we could not be in a better position."

Estimates for "The Da Vinci Code" over the start of the holiday weekend were not immediately available. That film, starring Tom Hanks and directed by Ron Howard, had a solid $77 million opener last weekend.

On the all-time list, "X-Men: The Last Stand" ranks behind only "Spider-Man," "Star Wars: Episode III" and "Shrek 2" for opening weekend gross. None of the other films opened on a holiday weekend, which usually gives movies a boost.

For Memorial Day openers, "X-Men" crushed the previous three-day high of $72 million, set by "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" in 1997.

Final box-office figures were expected Monday.

Think the trailer you saw that you call 6.6.6 is really the remake of "The Omen". It starts on 6/6/06.

I don't even care.

All I care about is the fact that Samuel L. Jackson has had it with those snakes.

Yeah. What's sad is, I actually got that.

I saw this with my girlfriend on Saturday. I absolutely loved it. And I'm not much of an X-Men fan. But I have enjoyed all three films. I thought it was well done.

Could somebody please tell me if this end scene was the chess one, or is it something more? I went and saw the movie, but didn't stay until the credits were totally over - can please somebody tell me what I missed with details?

Thanks!

There is another scene after the chess scene. All I will say it involves the body that Dr Taggert has in her office and her.

I've now seen this movie twice, and while I have to say it's not as good as one or two, it's a really good movie and it's fun because it has serious elements like the first two, and campy elements like those of recent comic book films Fantastic Four and Hellboy. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

And with this, I close this teeny tiny mini review:

"DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?? I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!!!"

What I liked about it:
-The increased number of unique mutants and the clever matching of their abilities
-The Beast (Kelsey Grammar was great)
-The way in which everything that the first two built up came to a head in this installment

What I didn't like about it:
-Each of the deaths seemed unnecessary... I suspect that they will get themselves out of most of it, but then I don't want X-3 to have all been for nothing
-It felt too rushed and there wasn't enough resolution at the end... why make the movie so short if it's going to suffer for it?

...Still, I loved it. Great movie. I'd say it's better than the first and perhaps tied with the second.

I know it's from the movie. But I think these Juggernaut lines where taken from a site...I just can't remember where. If you read the trivias at www.moviemistakes.com, you'll soon find it out.

Well, I watched this yesterday afternoon, and have to say, it was not at all what I expected it to be.

Of the three films, this one definitely could be considered the weakest when it comes to character development. There are just too many to keep track of and not enough time to commit to each one. I would have loved to see more interaction between Kitty and Bobby, and especially more of Scott's grief (before they unceremoniously killed him). I barely had time to remember the names and purpose of those mutants that Eric started to gather, and ultimately, I didn't care for them. I think the only characters that truly were given a chance to *grow* in this film were Jean, Ororo, and Logan. Everyone else seemed to just...be there for the film. Even Hank McCoy. As much as I loved seeing Beast in an X-Men film, his part could have easily been given to any other mutant with superstrength. And, of course, Warren III was such a waste of a good character. He had like, five scenes, and just when you're starting to care about what happens to him, the movie's over.

I guess if I were to rank each movie based on certain film qualities, it'd be this:

X-Men: 9.5 for Character Development, 7.5 for Story, and 7.5 for Action
X2 - X-Men United: 8 for Character Development, 9.5 for Story, and 8.5 for Action
X3 - The Last Stand: 5 for Character Development, 8.5 for Story, and 9.5 for Action

And the post-credits scene, IMO, was unnecessary. If they had intended X3 to have a complete sense of finality to it in a trilogy, they would not have had to put that bit in.
