Well... when in 1995 was Toy Story released? If it was released after March - than I can say that was made in the past decade. Again, my main opinion is that they shouldn't mix if it's going to be so obvious. It's insulting to the audience's intelligence - because there's no way to hide the strings. As for effective cgi, I remember some sequences in Zoolander that used it but weren't stupid. One sequence was where a baby had to have an expression on it's face it couldn't achieve naturally, and the effect actually looked somewhat convincing - not like the damn Quizno's baby. More like the Geico lizard, he looks very convincing. But really, everyone agrees there's a good and bad standard for use of CGI. And as long as I can't humanly compell myself to not agree with the people who pick on those painfully awful Sci-Fi Channel movies that I think single-handedly prove how bad CGI really is, all apparent CGI will be tainted. If only these movies took a cue from the Geico commercials - maybe it's because in those commercials the camera doesn't move, it just cuts. Nothing makes these computer effects fall apart like moving the camera so everyone can get a panoramic view at how fake they are! See, the economics of special effects just say this crap is being shoved down our throats because of the money these people make. I've always been too smart to be taken in by these tricks. I guess most people always feel like they need to see a double exposure when they see the commercials of these movies, they have to see the faint shadow of Business Executives counting money and saying, "those stupid sheep will buy anything, aren't we clever? Muh haha hahahahaha..." behind the flash-edited scenes of these garbage movies, to even think they're being manipulated.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:C'mon, I'm curious, you can't think of one movie released the past decade that had cool CGI?

I think that either Jean or Scott will die...and which ever one does die, I think will be killed be the other.
1) Jean is evil in this movie, that much is evident in the trailers. She will kill Scott while under the evil influence.
2) Scott will see that there is no hope for Jean turning back to the good side and will also see that killing her is the only way to save everyone.
I also am not pleased that Shadowcat apparently comes between Rogue and Bobby. I liked their pairing...and Shadowcat and Colossus are supposed to be together!!!
And no Gambit!!!!! AHHH!
But still cannot WAIT to see the movie!!
Looks a hell of a lot better than that Superman thing!!
PS Beast is played by Dr. Fraser Crane!! That cracks me up!

I think you're right. Cyclops and Jean Grey will not die because in the trailer, when they are at the funeral, they are both there which means they're not the ones in the grave. I wonder who it is?
Hurrah!!! X-Men 3 will soon be on theatres! I can't wait! Please watch this movie too, guys! The trailer is cool. I've been waiting for this movie since last year! I'm a big fan of the X-Men!

I've heard about whose funeral that is, but since it's just a rumor for now (and would be a HUGE spoiler), I'm loathe to reveal it...slyslayer3000 wrote:I think you're right. Perhaps if we had spoiler-proof Inviso-Text coding...
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. Between X-Cubed and PotC, this is shaping up to be a good summer for movies

I thought I read somewhere that it was Halle Berry's Storm that was going to die, which would explain her beefed up storyline for this movie.
I am really kind've sad that Nightcrawler isn't back.

It's not as bad as some of the critics are saying it is, but it's definately a step down from X2: X-Men United.DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I've heard nothing but bad things about it, unfortunately... Here's hoping it's better than the hype.

You have no idea what you are talking about PE. I have had the privilege of seeing the Advance Screening of the movie, and then last night went to the midnight showing, one of the many that was done all over the country, and really enjoyed myself again.
The introduction of a lot of new characters, the depth of the story, and how Jean is possessed with the spirit of the Dark Phoenix makes this movie really rock.
Brett Ratner has done a remarkable job with this third installment of the series, and don't hold your breath, because there is more on the way.
Also those of you who do go to the film, stay until the last credit is rolled, there is a definite surprise at the end of the film. You will be kicking yourself if you miss it.

I agree with DVDjunkie I know I haven't seen it but I will tonight or tomorrow. Many critics didn't like Daredevil and it was a great film but not excellent.
Anyways critics give it bad reviews because they aren't fans of the X-Men comic book. But I thought the first X-Men film was weak because many people don't know who the X-Men are so Bryan Singer made the movie all about the characters.

Yes! My brother and I went to the movies at the Palisades Mall late last night that I saw "X-Men: The Last Stand" after I bought the book at Barnes & Noble. It was a great film. The film started around midnight and ended at almost 2:00 AM. I got home late and had some rest. My brother and I had a great time.Spongebob Squarepants wrote:So does anyone plan to see the new X-Men movie this weekend!? I plan on seeing it today!

I saw a 12PM release today, My local theater did not have a midnight showing. All I can say is Wow, What a great movie, I was surprised by some of the deaths, Kelssy Grammer did a great job as Beast. The little bit after the credits was worth the wait. I give this movie a 5 out of 5, I am also reading the book
