2007/2008 DCOMS (too many sequels!)

Post by James »

Hi guys, I've got a list of new Disney Channel Original Movies to post. I got them from TV.com and that person got them from IMDB.com. Here's the list-
2007
High School Musical 2 (January 2007) (possibly fall 2006)
Kiss Me, I'm Irish (March 2007)
That's So Raven Movie (April 2007-possible theaterical release)
Double Dutch (Disney) (June 2007)
Disneyland Vacation (July 2007)
Some Call it Magic (August 2007)
Brandy's Home (September 2007)
Holiday Delight (November 2007)
Christmas in Las Vegas (December 2007)

2008
High School Musical 3 (January 2008
The Cheetah Girls 3 (February 2008
Zenon: Z4 (March 2008
The Replacements On the Move (April 2008
Phil of the Future Movie (June 2008
Cow Belles 2 (July 2008
Tiger Cruise 2 (August 2008
Cadet Kelly 2 (September 2008
Halloweentown: She's the Witch (October 2008
Jolly Old Nick (December 2008

and here's the link- http://www.tv.com/phil-of-the-future/sh ... /msgs.html
I for one hate and love (at the same time) that there is so many sequels plans. I love it because the movies are so great and we can have more of stuff like High School Musical, and the Cheetah Girls. But I hate it because they will probably be total crap. And Cadet Kelly 2! What are they thinking! Anyway this list is probably fake, but some are going to turn out to be true. I know that Raven is going to appear in Double Dutch, and that High School Musical 2 and 3 are go-aheads. Enjoy!

They can't. In fact, a lot of live action movies they do, really garder very little interest from the general public. DCOMs are only for a specific demograph, which is 17 and under.

If they ever did try to do something that would appeal to all ages, it would have to be a lot more respectful to the intelligence of the audiance.

Some of them sounds good though. I love the Zenon movies. Hopefully, it will be better than Z3 though. And a new Halloween Town movie? I hope they use all the same actors/actresses. :)

Whatever this is, it sounds awesome and I certainly hope that it's true!

The only ones i will probably look forward too are High School Musical 2, 3, Zenon Z4, and Cadet Kelly 2. I liked Halloween Town and Halloween Town 2: Kalabar's Revenge also didn't enjoy Halloween High but not as much as liked High School Musical, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and Cadet Kelly which i agree with a previous poster doesn't need a sequel.

Cadet Kelly 2! is hilary duff actually goniong to comeback to disney i hought she ended all contact with them since she wants to be a mainstream actress not a teenybopper, unless they replace her but then whats the point of having a sequel.

Disney hasn't confirmed that any of these DCOM sequels are a go...except for High School Musical 2 and 3.

I'm not trying to bring anyone hopes down.

But I would't mind Even Stevens: The Movie 2 or Cadet Kelly 2.

I haven't seen any Halloween or Zenon movies so I might just catch up on the DVD's or if Disney airs them again.

James are you sure all those listed are sequels?

The only ones I'm going to be watching are Disneyland Vacation and Zenon: Z4. And then maybe Christmas in Las Vegas because I love Vegas.
I doubt that Hilary will be in Cadet Kelly 2, which I don't even find a listing for on IMDB yet.

I know for sure that the Halloweentown movie is being made because my cousin was an extra in it just a while ago.

High School Musical 3? I guess they are milking it for what it's worth.

I'm sure alot of this is fake...
Christmas in Las Vegas (December 2007) (I wish it's real but I don't think disney will do vegas)

Tiger Cruise 2 (August 2008) (The 1st one isn't even popular)

Phil of the Future Movie
(June 2008) (Why would they wait 2 years after finishing the show to release a movie  )

IF they make another HALLOWEENTOWN movie I hope it takes place ON halloween and not a week before :(

I believe this is a leftover from April Fools Day. If you click the link, it says that the post was made on April 1st.

I wasn't meaning that all of them were sequels, just that there's too many of them being made. I agree that this is a practical joke made by some idiot on April Fool's Day, but I do think that some are actually going to get made. The Cheetah Girls and High School Musical seqeuls are probably going to get made, as is Double Dutch.

Ok, here is my story with this list. Some little kid wanted to make up titles so he looked around picked some real movies and made up his own and then stuck it on the Wikipedia website for DCOM. After I had spent long hours updating the Wiki site, this kid kept going back and reverting it so that these movies showed up. Anybody who went to the Wiki site saw this and eventually it started to spread. Ive been trying to perfect the DCOm site for about a year and a half and I always run into trouble. Like recently, they found that stupid DIsney book that has the list of the DCOMs. The stupid book lists Northern Lights and PUNKS as DCOMs, EVEN THOUGH TECHNICALLY THERE NOT!! THEY WERE NEVER CLASSIFIED AS DCOMs AT THE TIME OF THEIR RELEASE, AND THEY SHOULDNT BE NOW! So this kid made up a list and it spread through the internet like an STD. Most of it is false, so take it with some caution.
We need season sets of all DCOSs and all DCOMs on DVD! And Better Cover Art!

Sequels, in general, are terrible (with great excptions - see 1935's "Bride of Frankenstein"). The comfort here is that none of the originals are really that great to begin with - they won't be difficult to top with a sequel. It's not like when Disney bastardises their animated classics (and let's face it: not all of those are bonafide classics either).
