3rd Annual UD Forum Awards - Nominations

Post by AwallaceUNC »

Hi, and welcome to the 3rd Annual UltimateDisney.com Forum & Member Awards.

We've had a lot of fun with this the last two years and I welcome all returning and new participants this year. The Annual UD Forum Awards are a chance for all the posters here to recognize each other's contributions to the always-fun, always-informative community that is the Ultimate Disney Forum.

The rules are simple and are the same as last year's. You may nominate up to FIVE people in each of the categories that appear below. Nominations must be emailed to awallaceunc@gmail.com to be valid - no PMs accepted. Please make "3rd Annual UD Forum Nominations" your subject line. You may not nominate yourself for anything, nor you can nominate a thread/review/idea that you authored. Of course, the same person/people/thing that won in last years can be nominated and win again. For those of you concerned, I won't be scrutinizing your nominations and your submissions will be kept completely secret.

Remember, the intention here is not to pit anyone against anyone else or hurt anyone's feelings. There are a LOT of people participating and only a few can be nominated and even fewer can win. You never know how many votes may have come in for you! Play nice and remember that it's all in good fun. So please, no hurt feelings. :)

Important: "Of The Year" is defined as 3/13/05 - 5/19/06. Only reviews/threads/topics/etc. posted in that time frame are eligible.

Everyone is encouraged to put a lot of thought into this and consider more than just the last month or two.

Please do not post anything about who/what you are nominating in this thread. We want to keep things mysterious.

After they have been sent and tabulated, the official nominations will be posted in Off-Topic for you to vote on. The number of final nominees selected for each category will vary, depending on the numbers received, though the goal is always 3-5 for each (not always possible).

And now with all that out of the way, let's get started...

The Categories

**There will also be one honorary award given to a member in a special category. You may submit any ideas, suggestions, or nominations for this as well. (This category will be different than last year's, though the same person is still eligible)**

This might be a tad confusing, so let me know if you have any questions. :)

Send in your noms by this Friday, May 26th at 11:59pm (Eastern Time).

-Aaron

Ooh! Fun. I adored this last year, so I'm sure it'll be great again.

*tlm

P.S. Aaron, I died laughing at that Will & Grace episode which had that line. Nice choice.

Sent in my noms! Even though I registered in 2004, I didn't really start posting a lot until this past year, so this should be fun!

When you say Best Avatar/Siggie, you mean people who had the best variety of AvatarS/SiggieS right?

Well, it was hard to think about EVERYTHING that happened last/this year, but I did my best to try to include everyone this year, except myself. :)

We've managed to go 2 years without directly answering this question. Every nomination I get that has just someone's name will be counted toward that person's current avatar. If you want to specifically nominate them for one of their past avatars, please mention that avatar. The vote will still go to that person regardless, but I would like to list their nominated avatars beside them. If you want to nominate someone for best avatars all-around, you can submit just their name.

 Yeah- I lost it when I heard that. I paused the DVR and immediately made it my signature line.

In that case, I'll just campaign myself by showing off my favorite avatar. :P

I'm not really overly proud at myself or anything, and I don't expect a single nomination of any sort, but I just love this avatar and hope it just gets nominated. :D

Haha... 6 so far, and there's sure to be a 7th! Thanks for pointing that out. It's now been corrected to say May.

I hope that everyone's long-term memories serve them well enough in this to not overlook some true highlights of the past 15 or so months. And that lots of people vote!

Do you have to vote for every single category? I can't remember anything for the "Controversial Topic Of The Year" one. :P
