Wow, didn't know you played the guitar, Aaron.AwallaceUNC wrote:I bought a Fender Starcaster Acoustic/Electric Guitar tonight.

I bought five 1-inch-spine binders. No, it's not to prep for school in September. It's for my play reading this coming Wednesday. We have to make it look professional and all, so I had to put my 5 scripts in the binders instead of in a folder.

Awesome, Aaron! What was the price and color? Have a photo or anything? I'm starting lessons or have been for a few months now. My guitar is not that good but i'm just learning so its fine for now.AwallaceUNC wrote:I bought a Fender Starcaster Acoustic/Electric Guitar tonight.

Also I forgot I also got Archie Comics 65th Anniversary Bash, Star Wars/Conan Flipover-Book , and Disney Comics Presents: Donald Duck Free Comic Book Day 2006 Editions.

Even after I was told it was shipping I was convinced it was a cruel joke. I was convinced it would never be released due to licencing issues. But I was wrong.
Today I got The Essential Godzilla: King of the Monsters
All 24 issues of the Marvel Comics series. See Godzilla battle S.H.I.E.L.D.! See Godzilla battle The Champions (who include Ghost Rider)! See Godzilla battle The Fantastic Four! See Godzilla battle The Avengers! See Godzilla battle Devil Dinosaur and Moonboy! See Godzilla shrunk-down and battling a sewer rat!
That's right Pals. A tiddly-tiny Godzilla, the undisputed King of the Monsters, reduced to battling a common, dirty, disgusting sewer rat! Can anything else be as sublime? They just don't make comics like that anymore!
Sadly, my only regret is there's no Godzilla battling Fin Fang Foom. "Curse you Marvel! Curse you!"
I'm sorry. I'm going to have to go now. I'm just overcome with emotion.

I don't actually play yet. I plan on teaching myself this summer. It's sort of a golden brown like a traditional acoustic guitar and cost around $160.JiminyCrick91 wrote:Awesome, Aaron! I bought tickets to the Sydney Film Festival.
Films I will be seeing include:
The Myth (San wa) (2005 - Hong Kong) - Stanley Tong directs Jackie Chan in an Indiana Jones style role. Sounds like a winning combination!
Kidulthood (2006 - UK) - Written by Noel "Mickey from Doctor Who" Clarke, this is described as "A day in the life of a group of troubled 15-year-olds growing up in west London".
Pusher I (1996 - Denmark) - The first in the Danish Pusher trilogy, about (strangely enough) a drug pusher.
Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia) (2006 - Hong Kong) - Ronny Yu directs Jet Li in what he claims will be his last martial arts film!
God on My Side (2006 - Australia) - Documentary by Australian comedian/chat show host Andrew Denton. It is about the Texas National Religious Broadcaster Convention, the "business" of god in America and God in politics. So far up my alley, I may as well move there.
Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005 - Canada) - Another documentary about heavy metal culture. Director/anthropologist Sam Dunn's previous film was on the plight of the Guatemalan refugees, so it should be interesting!
Bob Le Flambeur (1955 - France) - AKA Bob the Gambler. Part of a Jean-Pierre Melville retrospective at this year's festival, this film was remade as The Good Thief. Who can resist a heist film?
Le Samouraï (1967 - France) - AKA The Godson. About a perfectionist hitman trying to scheme his way out of having been spotted.
Edmond (2005 - USA) - I couldn't resist a film starring William H. Macy. Especially written by William H. Macy. My only American selection in the festival. Nothing against American films, but most American films are released here - even indie ones - one way or another. I'm using the festival as an opportunity to see stuff I might not otherwise see in a cinema.
The Descent (2005 - UK) - From the makers of Dog Soliders. I HAD to have a horror film in there! Looking forward to it, seems like an appropriate way to end the festival.
Might see a few others in there if we take a mind to it, but we got a deal for 10 films (saving $60 off the individual ticket price this way).

I am glad someone else found the excellence that is TJ Maxx! I work at one and am always glad to see other people liking the store as well. Whenever I say I work at TJ Maxx, I tend to get blank stares :lol. So I am always glad to see someone else knows the store. Anyway, you must have gotten that purse on clearance? The xoxo purses tend to be around 16.99 at my store. Though yours my have different prices I guess.cydney wrote:I just discovered that TJ Maxx sells some really cool stuff for cheap so I bought a xoxo purse that's usually $36 for only $12. It really made my day.
While I was at work on Wednesday I bought a pair of jean capris and cute green top.

yeah, it's such a cool store. At first I thought it was a crappy used discount store where they send the crap that no one would ever buy. Yesterday when I went in to get some exercise balls I saw the purses and how much they were discounted and I felt bad at how wrong I was. Alot better then the $35 I spend on another xoxo bag at Macy's. I will be shopping there more for sure!Disney Lover wrote:I am glad someone else found the excellence that is TJ Maxx!
