I keep thinking the same thing Lazario. I remember when Clay lost to Ruben. It was the first season I watched the show. It looked like he was going to win, and seeing Ruben win was a huge shock. Like Clay, Taylor has never been in the bottom 3/2. Hopefully he will end up like Carrie, who also was never in the bottom last year, and won.Lazario wrote:I hope like hell Taylor Hicks wins (not that I actually watch this stupid show). But if people keep predicting that he will win... he might lose. Isn't that exactly what happened when Ruben won, not Clay? Every loser and their mother was betting on Clay and... HA HA, they lost their shirts. Is it down to 2 yet? If it's between him and the girl, it'll probably be him. But then they'll make us think it's her.

I've not been a Taylor fan from day 1, so I'm naturally gonna vote for Katharine (even though I should be voting for Chris,
). But I suspect that Taylor will win. But my one thought looking at him is.....this is the American Idol? He just doesn't do it for me. I suspect that he will be the least succesful Idol winner ever. Provided that he does win of course.

I'm not a Katherine fan- i heart Taylor....but c'mon, we all know Kats gonna take it all- shes very marketable...lord-of-sith wrote:I've not been a Taylor fan from day 1, so I'm naturally gonna vote for Katharine (even though I should be voting for Chris,). Shes single,
young,
pretty,
no husband/kids,
& of course extremly talented she can shake her booty n sing- shes gonna take it all
girls are gonna wanna be her & men are gonna wanna be with her...
it's hard to market someone who is already taken & has a family- that is why I think Chris was voted off.
Taylor has not been in the bottom 2/3 ever...but i really do think Katherine is going to win- but i do think it shoulda been Chris too!

That's because neither of them play real music. That's the trouble with people today, they don't appreciate good music, and Taylor Hicks has more soul in his little toe than most of us have in our whole body.^Yeah, I can't picture him on MTV or TRL at all.

I completely agree. For anyone that hasn't heard his Pre-Idol stuff give it a listen. Its pretty good. One of the songs was even played during his trip home on the Wednesday show. He was preforming it inside the mall that he visited.dvdjunkie wrote:LucyLover1986 wrote:

Not that Katherine can't sing, she can. She reminds me of so many others that are out making music now. Taylor is different, but different in a good way.

Taylor Hicks should win. He's got a talent most people could only dream of.
It wouldn't surprise me if Kat wins, because she's young, and attractive. It's so sad that we live in an ageist society. Ironic, because when the women become older (think Madonna), it doesn't matter how great their music is, radio programmers say they do not identify with their target audience.
I hear so many people say, "Oh, Taylor is too old, he won't win" That's CRAP. First of all, his looks should have nothing to do with it. His age shouldn't have anything to do with it, either. In fact, Taylor is only 29. Just because he has gray hair, people say he looks too old. Ridiculous! I can't wait until everyone who is young, that thinks someone is "too old", becomes that age, where others say they are "too old". With age, comes wisdom.
I'm 31 years old, and I don't think people who are decades older than me, are old. Old is a state of mind, by the way. You are either as old, or young, as you feel. Think about that, when you go to sleep tonight, all you "youngsters".

"Good" music is in the eye (well...ear) of the beholder.dvdjunkie wrote: That's because neither of them play real music. That's the trouble with people today, they don't appreciate good music, and Taylor Hicks has more soul in his little toe than most of us have in our whole body.
Personally, I like listening to Katherine more than Taylor, but I would rather watch Taylor perform. What you hear matters more than what you see to me, mainly because I'll be listening to a CD if I'm listening at all.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Well if this season goes like the past ones it really doesn't matter who wins as far as getting a contract. (It does to me though, GO TAYLOR!)
Why you ask? Well all the previous runner-ups have gotten CDs. Justin/Clay/Diana/Bo all ended up with a contract. While some did good, some didn't. I'm almost positive that this will happen again this year. So if that holds true I can't wait to buy Taylor's CD weither he wins or not.
I just hope they let him be Taylor when he records. I was a little let down by Bo Bice's CD. I was pulling for him to win last year, and when his CD came out I picked it up to see if it was similar to his Pre-Idol/Sugarmoney stuff (actually the only "Idol" CD I have). Sadly it wasn't. However there are a few decent songs on the CD. The one thats on the radio now "The Real Thing" is really one of the weaker ones.

Now that Elliot's gone my vote will go to Taylor. I didn't really watch this season (mostly fast forwarded through the performances) so I didn't really how good he was until a few weeks ago. He doesn't really look like a typical American Idol, but if he sticks to the music he's good at he should have a following.

I've been pulling for Taylor since I first started watching this season. He has such a talent. He can just open his mouth, and the voice is amazing! He can sing anything, and give it SOUL!
I've voted so much for Taylor, I can't even keep track. He deserves to win. Go Taylor! Soul Patrol all the way!!!

Aaron, come on! Taylor is awesome, and certainly is the most deserving.AwallaceUNC wrote:Oh well. My favorite has never won so why should this year be any different? Of course, neither Taylor nor Katherine were the most deserving, in my opinion. So much for my 10 votes for Katherine last night!

Clay looked very strange. Maybe it was the hair, but he looked odd. Sort of a funny moment I guess. I had heard Clay was going to be there on the news, and as soon as I saw the guy from the auditions I said I bet Clay will walk out, and he did.
Carrie was great! I was a Bo fan last year, but I will admit that Carrie is doing very well. I'm not a country music fan, but she sounded great. I wasn't shocked that Kelly didn't show, and really wasn't looking for Ruben or Fantasia either. Would have been interesting if all the past winners showed up though.
Chris and Live were good. I really wouldn't be surprised if Chris, whoever he signs with, ends up being more successful than anyone that was in this season.
The guests were good too, but what was with Toni Braxton when she was performing with Taylor? It just sounded way off, and like her mic wasn't working half the time. Personally Taylor should have done something else tonight and did In The Ghetto, instead of Levon last night. Anyway it didn't hurt him. I sat there during the results thinking to myself... well DialIdol says Taylor won and they have been pretty accurate so far, but I have a wierd feeling Katherine will win. When they announced Taylor Hicks I almost went "WHOOOOOOOO" myself. I'm really happy with the results.
Finally my favorite from a season won. I hope he has a very successful career.
