Will Pocahontas II ever get "that" Special Edition
I read that Pocahontas II was suppose to get a "Special Edition" release with the "Original Classic" when it came out? What happened?

You never know. With The New World in cinemas, Pocahontas might experience a renaissance and go flying off the shelves.
Then we'll see a 3-Disc set!
Pocahontas II is not one of my favourite DTVs, I should say. Even though the real Pocahontas DID go to England, I just didn't get anything out of the sequel. Mind you, I'm no overwhelmed with the original either.

Amazon Germany (Amazon.de) had a listing for a 2 disc Pocahontas II: SE up for a while, but it never arrived. This was around the time the 2 disc Pocahontas came out (remember it was out in Europe first).
I'm not sure what happened... perhaps the're was a miscommunication and it was really for a twin-pack of 1 and 2. I doubt it will get a 2 disc release, but an "upgrade" does seem possible at some point.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I really want a SE of Pocahontas II, so that it can match with my 10th Anniversary Edition of the orginial. I only have it on VHS, and the Gold Collection DVD doesn't sound that hot either, so I'm hoping on a re-release. Will it come? I hope so, but most likely, not.

Me too. I only have it on video tape and since I prefer DVDs, I hope they'll release a "remastered" special edition sometime soon.TheSequelofDisney wrote:I really want a SE of Pocahontas II, so that it can match with my 10th Anniversary Edition of the orginial. Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Meh, i dont really care for a Pocahontas II special edition.
Though judging by the amount of users wanting one i think i underestimated how popular this sequel is. I actually always forget about there being a sequel for Pocahontas, maybe thats because it was done before Disney decided to churn them out every 3/4 months.

Wow - am I correct in assuming that Pocahontas II is one of the well-liked Disney direct-to-video sequels?
Personally, I think this, along with every other single solitary Disney direct-to-video sequel for an animated film should be put out in a boxset, and then never released again until the blu-ray/HD revolution, when I think this same idea should be repeated only once. And then no more direct-to-video sequels should be made. Ever.

Come on Lazario! Bambi II and Kronk's New Groove were pretty decent. As was Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World. Sure they weren't as great as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, or the original Bambi, but they were still pretty good. I found some of the stuff that they put into these sequels to be pretty darn funny.Lazario wrote:Wow - am I correct in assuming that Pocahontas II is one of the well-liked Disney direct-to-video sequels?

Well, whatever floats your boat. I personally like, or in some cases really enjoy, these so-called "cheapquels" Even if they are really stupid and boring.Lazario wrote:I disagree
