Lady and the Tramp II... worth it?

Post by xxhplinkxx »

Well, along with all of you here, I am a major Disney fan. My collection of Disney (Animated) Movies isnt very big, but Im happy with it. In it I have mostly Disney's "major movies"... with the exception of Hercules and Hunchback (Im waiting for a special edition... (I feel it coming!!) and some others. I have the following:

All 3 Aladdins
Alice in Wonderland
Bambi and Bambi II (not too sure why I got it, but its enjoyable)
Cinderella
The Emperors New Groove
Lady and the Tramp
All 3 Lion Kings
Mulan I and II
Pocahontas I (it's a shame II hasnt gotten a special edition)
Sleeping Beauty
and Tarzan (enjoyed Tarzan II but didnt buy it)

I dunno, I just wanted to ask your opinions on whether or not LATT II is worth getting. I think I remember seeing it when it first came out on the Disney Channel but dont really remember it too well.

Thank You.

(sorry if this seems like a wasted post!!)

The Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure may be a worthy part of your collection...this is just my opinon. It's because it has a simple plot with great characters and songs.
If you don't want to have some regrets in buying it, watch it first again then you decide! :)

I would buy it and I am going to buy it. It was one of the more enjoyable DTV sequels.

I'd go out on a limb and submit that it is possibly the best of all the animated sequels. It is a simply role-reversal, but it has so much heart and a sense of fun about it that it really works.

Also has one of the best bonus feature packages on a DTV, including an excellent commentary and "making of" that shows just how much effort goes into something that people write off as "cheapquels".

I think it is a great movie with great songs, a very goog story. It was one of the first movies my little girl saw and she fell in love with it instantly!!!

If you did not get the first DVD that came out then yes GET IT! :)

If you did "Like Me" then do not get this new release, it's not WORTH it!

However, I am ordering a slip cover from Disney! :D

Since I don't have LATT II, and haven't seen it, I am positive that I will get this new edition. From what I hear, LATT II, is a very enjoyable movie, and one of the better DTV sequels. So if I were you, I would get it, even if you already have the other edition.

Why would he double dip for no reason though? :?

There are only two new things on the new DVD and they are the "Song Selection" which you can just go to the song and add caption, and a "Game", which I am sure he can live without. :)

Ask Pals or reyquila! :P

Anyways, I wholly recommend Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure, because as others have said, it's definitely one of the better DTVs. Sure it's a mere role-reversal, but it's a cute film too.

Buy it only if you like dogs or are a completionist, because the movie itself doesn't hold a candle to the original. The entire plot is based on a heavy-handed Moral Of The Story! told through one-dimensional characters. Now entering Cliche City...

(I did like Angel and the Barney Fife-esque dog catcher, though.)

LATT2, LM2, , P2 and LK2 are the only disney sequels really worth owning in my opinion.

Also, you might just take a look at PP2 and JB2.
:pan: Love It.

lol, its funny cause today I went to the Disney Store where I used to work. (side story: I was gonna buy the new "kiss the girl" snowglobe.. but it was sold out.. I was very mad.. :x ) Anyway, they played a commercial for LATT II and I figured, what the hell... sure I'll get it. Just for the sake of having it. Thanks for all your opinions!

btw slyslayer, I love your avatar with the villains... is there a bigger sized picture??

I didn't watch the original "Lady and the Tramp" until earlier this year and I really loved it. Watched the sequel again the next week (since the public library has both to rent for free, along with almost all the Disney DTVs) and I was pleasantly surprised.

I might pick this up, although I still need to pick up the "Lady and the Tramp" special edition (has it gone back in the vault yet?).

The new cover is awesome! But yeah, they couldn't have added the music video to "Bella Notte" by Joy Enriquez & Carlos Ponce? Or was there never one?
