One word....WOW! Part one of the three-hour season finale was amazing! I can't believe that Burke was shot, and that Izzie has made such a mistake. What has she done?!

I know! Izzie, what is the MATTER with you?!?!?!!?!? I could not believe my eyes when she cut that wire...
I wish she and Alex would get back together. They were a good balance. Alex is my favorite character, too.
And poor Burke....but I hope this finally jerks Christina out of her permanent case of PMS.
Also, Meredith is getting on my nerves. She needs to pick a man. I feel sorry for Addison though...she still loves her husband.
And George needs to grow a pair...honestly. When a girl puts herself out there like that, you don't run off with your friend.
Also, I;ve heard on numerous Entertainment News shows that one of the characters will soon be coming out as homosexual. Any predictions?

My vote would be for Alex, because I have the hots for him. He's too much into women, however, for that to happen. I can't imagine who it would be! Derek and Addison went to the vet, Finn, to see what was wrong with Doc. There was tension (which Addison didn't notice) between Derek and Finn, because Finn is Meredith's new boyfriend.
Meredith later informs Addison that Finn is her boyfriend without thinking, and Addison later confronts Derek, and they have a very loud argument which is seen and heard by all. Addison later gets non-sexual comforting from the Chief.
Meredith asks Callie who is an Oncologist what the odds are for her dog and basically is rude and insults her. Callie later brings Meredith into a room with X-Ray's up of people with the same condition as Doc, and Meredith thanks her.
Izzie learns there are two hearts that match Denny's bloodtype and is overjoyed. She asks Bailey if she can tell Denny that they have a match for his transplant. She gives her the okay and a doctor comes in with DNR papers for Denny to sign which causes Izzie to have a minor breakdown. Denny responds that he isn't worried because he would rather be in heaven than to be on Earth with the machine in his abdomen (I don't remember the name of the actual device, it may be a pacemaker).
Christina is still mad at Burke, for being mad at her for falling asleep while they were having sex.
Burke and Alex leave the hospital for Denny's heart. When they arrive at the other hospital they find out that the patient who they needed to be alive, actually had died, so the heart was unusable. The other heart (at the same hospital) was going to be transplanted at the same time, so Burke runs and tries to get the heart for Denny.
The other surgeon who knows Burke from med-school is upset that they are trying to get her heart. They find out that the Denny entered the program 17 seconds after the other patient which means that the other patient gets the heart.
Izzie hears the news that the heart is unusable and when asked by Alex what Denny's condition is, she lies and says that he isn't well and that he really needs the heart and Alex tells her he won't lie for her, she demands to talk to Burke, and lies to him instead and gives him a bunch of BS numbers and conditions.
The board of the hospital and the surgeon who has the heart says they have an hour to get official test results and Burke tells Izzie to get them to him.
Izzie decides she will do anything to get the other heart, and when Burke calls back, she tells him to just bring the heart. He asks her what she did and she doesn't tell him. Izzie tells Denny that the heart that was meant for him is unusable and she has to stop his heart to get the other one. He doesn't want her to do it and says it will end her career. She says she doesn't care and breaks down in front of him telling him to do it for her. She also wants George to help, and goes to get him just as Callie tells George she loves him. Izzie gets him before he has time to respond and he tells Callie he will call her later.
There was a backplot in the episode of an employer who was shot at and incidently all of his employees were shot as well. Among them was a pregnant 19 year old girl who dies of a bullet to the brain and her parents want to keep the baby alive. Derek advises against it. and Addison tells them they shouldn't which leads to the above mentioned argument.
The employer is later released and as he's leaving is shot (presumably dead) and there is another casualty (not dead) Doctor Burke, coming back to stop Izzie, who doesn't have the heart for the transplant with him.
George doesn't approve of Izzie's plan and wants to stop her but she tells him just to watch the door of Denny's room. Izzie thinking Burke is going to be there any second cuts Denny's wire connecting his heart to the power and the black title screen comes up with the sound of a flatline in the background.

What a finale! I am absolutely in shock. Spoilers within...you have been cautioned!
First, I was so proud of the interns, even Alex, for standing behind Izzie. It shows that they are more human than they want us to believe.
Even though I do not agree with what Izzie did, I still feel sorry for her loss. As it was stated in the finale, you can't help who you fall in love with. That's probably the truest statement I've heard in a television show, in a long time. It rings so true, that it really touched my heart, more than anything else that was said. She truly loved Denny, and it is too bad that he died, in the end. She has truly lost everything. How she will recover from this, I have no idea.
At the same time, I can't believe Meredith and Derek ended up having sex, again. It comes back around to "you can't help who you fall in love with", but, is it truly love, on the part of Derek? I can tell that Meredith loves Derek, but, does Derek really love Meredith, or does he just lust after her?
I must have missed the part between Yang and Burke, but, what is it that Cristina asked Burke about? She said, "Are you going to tell Derek?" What is Cristina talking about?
In the end, I hope that Meredith will realize that she's only going to get hurt with Derek. I truly do not feel that he can love her, like she wants.
Next season is going to be very interesting. It's going to be a long wait, that's for sure. It was a very good finale. I shed a tear or two, a couple of times.
Bring on Season 3!

It was sooo sad when she was walking out with her red dress on with a blank look on her face, admitted to the Chief, that it was she who cut the wire, and then quit. Izzie had everything and in a second it was gone. It really is a metaphor for life. I can't wait for the DVD's and next season.
