Warner Bros. obviously plans to "super" saturate the market with ALL things "Superman". I'm VERY excited about the reported 14-Disc Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition.

The DigitalBits.com reports in, today, with even more information:

Finally, the BIG Warner news (or should I say... "super" news?). The studio has officially unveiled its complete Superman DVD release plans for the rest of 2006. In the 2nd Qtr, look for Look Up in the Sky!: The Amazing Story of Superman documentary (street date TBA), along with the newly (and/or recently) announced Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - Season Three, Adventures of Superman: The Complete Third and Fourth Seasons, The Adventures of Superboy: The Complete First Season, Krypto: The Superdog, Volume One - Cosmic Canine, Superman: Brainiac Attacks (an original animated movie), Justice League of America: Season Two and Superman: The Animated Series - Volume 3, all currently expected for release on 6/20. In the 3rd Qtr, look for Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season (street date TBA). Then in the 4th Qtr, watch for the DVD release of Superman Returns, Superman: The Movie - Special Edition, Superman II: Special Edition, Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, Superman III: Deluxe Edition, Superman IV: Deluxe Edition, The Superman Collection, The Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition, Supergirl, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - Season Four, Adventures of Superman: The Complete Fifth and Sixth Seasons, the Superman Serials (the 1948 and 1950 editions, starring Kirk Alyn), Krypto: The Superdog - Volume Two, Justice League Unlimited: Season One and Justice League of America: Season Three (street date for all is TBA, but likely November). Whew! That's a lot of super for one year.

Too bad the actual movie doesn't look great.

I still would prefer they make a new Supergirl movie, taking the source material seriously.

Hmm...wondering why Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace are called "Deluxe Editions" as opposed to the normal "Special Editions.

Looks like my prediction that the Superman Documentary won't be part of the Ultimate Superman Collection.

I wonder how the Superman Collection will differ from the Ultimate Superman Collection.

And nice to see that Lois & Clark's final season will get released this year! I've known about the Season Three release for awhile now, so by Christmas, I'll finally have the entire series on DVD!

Out of all the various Superman material coming out, the ones I'm truly looking forward to are:

Look Up in The Sky!: The Amazing Story of Superman
Lois & Clark - The New Adventures of Superman: Season Three
Lois & Clark - The New Adventures of Superman: Season Four
The Ultimate Superman Collection (the CR movies and Superman Returns)
Supergirl (which is confirmed as not being in the Ultimate collection)

Your telling me that Superman year is massive.
I think that both Justice League Season 3 and Justice League: Unlimited is the same thing. Justice League just added the Unlimited to it in the thrid season.

Here's what I'm planning to get:

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - Season Three
The Adventures of Superboy: The Complete First Season
Superman: Brainiac Attacks (an original animated movie)
Justice League Season Two
Superman: The Animated Series - Volume 3 (last 18 episodes of this series)
Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season
The Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition (which contains all four superman movies SE plus the new one and supergirl:SE)
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - Season Four
Justice League Unlimited: Season One (also called Justice League: Season 3)

Actually WB already said in their chat with HTF that the Superman Boxset would not include Supergirl. But that it would be available seperatly.

I'll be getting it as soon as it arrives.
I'm also anticipating Superman Returns, and I'll probably rent the special editions of Superman I/II since I've never seen them!

DavisDVD are reporting that Ken Burns' documentary 'Look Up In The Sky: The Amazing Story Of Superman' will be released on June 20th for $14.99 (The same day as a slew of other Super-DVDs).

Does anyone know for sure this will be included in the 14 disc boxset, or should I add it to my SuperTuesday order now?

I read that Supergirl will be available this fall, along with other superman movies, which I assume will be Smallville season 5, Superman Returns, plus some other tv shows

And don't forget Superman: The Animated Series Vol 3 and the all-new Superman: TAS movie Brainiac Attacks

Out of all the Dini/Timm animated superhero series for Warner, Superman: TAS is far the best. Amazing, when you consider Superman is by far my least favorite DC Comics character (generally, he's too 'super'). But I love Superman: TAS. It rewrites the myth in a logical manner, creating connections that enhance the characters (What they did to Brainiac was genius, the 'new' Toyman is just darned right creepy), while also telling colourful, fun and thrilling adventure stories.

I predict that both will do about the same since Superman Returns comes out a day before POTC.

Yeah I just got some M&M's and it's advertising POTC.....while many companies are advertising Superman Returns like Captain Crunch and other cereals.

Well it looks like the UK isn't getting a 14 disc set, but an 8 disc set. So either plans have changed at Warners, or the UK is being shafted again.

The only Superman I ever cared for was Dean Cain. But I hope this new movie doesn't suck (not that it will have much competition with that crappy X-3)
