Greek Life

Post by singerguy04 »

I was wondering this today, Is/was anyone on here involved in greek life at college(fraternities and sororities)? I'm a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon on my campus.

I just thought this would be neat bc you never know who'll you'll run across that's a brother or a sister.

SAE got kicked off our campus for a hazing incident just last year- we were paired with them for homecoming my senior year though.

I graduated in 2004 and was (ok, IS- it's fo life!) a Delta Gamma.

Going greek was one of the best decisions I ever made!

Yeah, that's a shame. Too bad almost everything is considered hazing though. In the state of Illinois sending anyone on a scavenger hunt is considered hazing. that's just an example though. I agree that going greek has been the best decision that i've ever made!

Hadn't seen this since I posted.

Yeah, my sorority has really strict rules about hazing- the scavenger hunt is on the list, but also taking a girl out to breakfast could be considered "eating on command" so we officially can't do that either

At our SAE after an event where pledges were forced to drink large amounts of alcohol (my BF was a pledgemaster at a different fraternity so I'm sure there was more to it than just drinking) a pledge lost his ear falling down a stairwell.... so no, it wasn't exactly a scavenger hunt!
