I didn't know that tF&tH 2 was a midquel. I thought that it was a squel. I'm serious too. Disney sure is having a fun time making midquels. What is this, the third or fourth?

Well, this seems very uninteresting. It does give me some sort of hope that TLM 3 will be a prequel though! Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase!

It really seems boring, but there are two new characters that seem interesting; that dog voiced by Patrick Swayze and that other pretty ....umm...err...bitch!he, he! You know that one with Ariel's hair on her head! And, talking about Ariel, I too hope that TLM3 is a midquel or a prequel BUT I would hate too see a whole movie with an 8-year-old Ariel. I WANT MY GOOD OLD TEENAGE ARIEL BACK!!!!

Let me get this straight...

1) Death to 3D. Bring back 2D

AND

2) Death to the 2D sequels.

C'mon folks, let's make up our minds. This actually looks quite fun, but it is hard to tell from a minute of new footage.

Besides - PATRICK SWAYZE!!! How can it be wrong when it feels so right?

Here here!

I actually think it looks better than the original!

For some reason, if they DO make a Little Mermaid prequel, I bet EVERYONE will be saying bad things about it before it happens. It just works like that.

slight exaggeration?

it doesnt seem all as bad as everyone seems to think, but it also doesnt look as though it keeps in tone with the original film at all, which is very important for a sequel and especially a midquel.
it looks more like an oliver and company spinoff then anything else, but we can only wait and see.

Well, I think people are forgetting that "The Fox and the Hound" isn't one of Disney's most magical classic. I mean I could understand if it was something like Snow White or Pinocchio(though, I can't understand what's with this request TLM prequel ) but this is easily a forgettable film with lots of flaws.

Now will I buy it? Probably not. In all honesty, I only own 2 DTV's(The Lion King ones :D) but I think we should at least give it a chance before we start bashing it.

Didn't we get rave reviews for "Bambi 2" recently?

Looks charming enough. :) And they're rolling out starpower for this one. Seems to show at least quality is getting better. Hopefully the story sounds as "cute" as it did in this trailer.

Is it just me...or does the animation look a little jerky for even a DTV, as if they decided not hire as many inbetweeners as usual. I mean, I noticed some strobe when the characters moved. Maybe it's just me, though.

Regarding the animation, the whole trailer seemed jerky to me, so I think it was just the speed of the computer. On some computers, the movie loads/plays slow and skips a few frames. But the number of frames is the least of my worries. The characters don't look like themselves at all! Especially Todd. There's something wrong with his mouth. And both his and Copper's eyes are bigger and more cartoony! It just looks really bad.

As for the little hints at a story, it is definately silly. The event of a friendship being torn between one friend wanting to be part of something the other friend not wanting to be a part of that something has been done many times before. It's nothing compared to the first movie, about a friendship being torn between too friends who are trained to be enemies. Although that has been done before, too, it's much more meaningful and serious than, "I won't be your friend if you join that group of country singing dogs!"

i just never saw a sequel or anything to add to this movie as being really needed. It's pretty powerful as it is, and adding something that's not as serious as the original isn't really a good thing. However, i think it will fit well as a midquel just because it's not all that serious. This will dive deeper into their childhood and proove even more just how tragic it is that they are forced to become enemies later on in life. It could make the original even sadder, which i don't know is that great of a thing, lol.

Overall i'll probably like it because anything that has a Disney logo on it tends to entertain me.

Does Disney make new movies anymore? I mean seriously. Every movie is eventually going to wind up having a sequel. They should make new movies, instead of making a sequel for every movie already made. :(

okay... so Copper joins a band? a dog band that looks to have members from Oliver & Company and All Dogs go to Heaven.....

and so Todd gets angry because he's joined this band and feels he's changed?..... my God... and what is up with all the purple colors? this looks terrible.

Wikipedia wrote:Purple as one of the liturgical colors in Christian symbolism can express sorrow and mourning.
See, they even used a colour scheme that matched the story! :o And then people say the sequels don't have any thought put into them.

And look, Christian symbolism too! That will mean all the churches will tell people to buy the DVD. Well done Disney!

Oh dear. It also says

I'd prefer another midquel trash fest that can be ignored, rather than a sequel that will ruin the beautiful bittersweet ending of the first movie. It might not be Disney's most recognized classics, but in my opinion it's one of Disney's best efforts at storytelling. It fits the Disney 'genre', yet has a mature narrative of the characters. Nothing is forced upon us. Everything is built up until the tragic end.

So, in short after a long ramble.... Let them make all the midquels they wish, so long as it doesn't ruin the memory of the beautiful end.

Wow...never thought I'd see that coming...a midquel where Copper instead of going hunting goes singing....or something like that. Where exactly is that going to fit in again? At least the style of the characters is pretty faithful to the original ones.
