warning for all windows users!

Post by IggieKuzco »

to stop counterfet programs, windows has sent out a message to all users saying that an update is needed.
this update updates nothing, it just checks to see if you are using a real windows program or a stolen one.
i myself did not know i owned a counterfet program, and now my computer is sending me all kinds of friendly warnings which will apparently lead to them shutting down my program within a few weeks time if not taken care of.
if you do not own or unsure if you own an official windows program i suggest that you either get it checked out, get a hold of a real program or avoid this download.

you have been warned.

off to the microsoft store i go

Its just for Windows...

Its a new Windows Genuine update that was released on Microsoft/Windows Update. It checks to see if your copy of Windows is valid and if its not it will keep telling you its not and how to get a genuine copy.

I have read some problems with this update though and some people with genuine copies are still getting the popups saying its not.

As far as I know this is only on Windows XP. Not sure if they will eventually roll this out to other versions of Windows, Office, Visual Studio, etc...
