Hallowe'en

Post by Prince Adam »

Since tomorrow's Hallowe'en, I just thought I'd ask:

What's everyone's favourite Disney Hallowe'en movie, TV episode, short, or related "entertainment thing"?

Mine is probably the "Ducky Horror Picture Show" episode of DuckTales. I also really like the "Lonesome Ghosts" short, plus "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", and any of the Hallowe'en or "scary" episodes of the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

But I'd really like to see the new Hallowe'en House of Mouse episode.

That's the British spelling. It comes from All Hallows Eve(ning)...so the ' fills in for the v. Americans just drop it.

Favorite Disney Halloween movie is of course Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Or rather, just Ichabod. :)

Actually It from All Hollows Eve in the christian religion. At midnight the evil spirits would come out so the people wore masks and costumes to scare them away. The day after is a Catholic Holy Day of Obligation- All Saints Day, followed By All Souls Day.

I just saw Watcher in the Woods and it wasn't bad at all. I'd add that and House of Villains to my list, but in terms of classic stuff...

I have fond memories of watching what must've been Disneyland episodes on Saturday/Sunday evenings here, and they showed one every year that had Lonesome Ghosts, a large chunk of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and probably the Donald short, 'Trick or treat' (which I feel like I've seen a million times, but maybe because I have it on at least 3 DVDs). All obvious ones, I know, but that's what I remember most fondly.

I have to admit though, my fave Halloween stuff is non-Disney, but there is probably an off-topic thread, so I'll head over there now...

For me, definitely The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
A local historical park offers a Halloween hay ride that features a visit from our friendly Headless Horseman...it's really quite amusing to see him riding along side you in the darkness on this ride. Of course some of the kids absolutely freak out.
