Aside from the banned episode mentioned eariler, a bunch of "Gas gun" sequences and other acts of "violence" were cut out from the originial Darkwing Duck episodes when they were rerun on Toon Disney after 2001 (The consensus is that the edits were made in the aftermath of 9/11, when such violent acts would be considered in poor taste. Though some say that the edits was just general "political correctitude" on Disney's part.).
Similar edits were done to Ducktales, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, and i think Gargoyles.
Many DWD fans i've met are concerned that if Disney does indeed release the shwo in season/volume sets, they might use the edited Toon Disney Masters by mistake (ala Warner Bros. and their Tom and Jerry DVD's). I've heard reports that the Rescue Rangers Vol 1. DVD did indeed use some of the edited Toon Disney masters, so the concern is not without justification. I hope Darkwing Duck gets the DVD treatment it deserves, Uncut season sets.

I can sort of see (in a paranoid sense) why Disney would want to edit DWD for gun references, although it's pretty silly to do so. The Talespin episode that was outright banned did have a terrorism plot, but was yanked off the air well before 9/11 (it aired by accident on Toon Disney once, however).Super Leviathan wrote:Similar edits were done to Ducktales, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, and i think Gargoyles.
IIRC, the episodes of Rescue Rangers that were edited were done so for some apparently "offensive" gags, although whether they were actually offensive or not is very debatable. As with Talespin, these edits took place around the time of the series' first run, and some of them were overhauled apparently even before they first aired. You can read more about the three most edited episodes here: http://www.anterras.net/candy/Everythin ... s.html#Drd
Ducktales and Gargoyles, I'm not sure about. Probably the same deal with guns, etc. Silly stuff like that.
Oh, I'm sorry, you're all standing...here, let me make you a chair!
