This is going to be pretty cool. I'm not sure if I wanna spend $10 to see it though. I wonder if they're going to add in anything new or if it's the original theatrical cut in 3-D.

This should be really cool. I know it has a rather large fanbase, considering how unclear the fanbase may be. But, I like the film, and seeing it in 3-D should be really cool.

I'd go see this version! I was in elementary school when it came out in theaters originally but never saw it. This sounds cool and I love re-relased movies on the big screen (especially disney ones) so it'll be worth it. To me this does seem like an IMAX type release. If in fact it is do you think it will re-open the door to show other disney movies in that format again? I remember reading a couple years ago right before they stopped with the lion king that they'd already re-done mermaid and aladdin in that format and didn't bother to release them. I even remember aladdin being listed on the official imax website for a while but it was never updated and then soon after taken down.

I hope it's successful so we do indeed see more classics re-released. It has a good chance to make decent money since it comes out October 20 so it'll benefit from the Halloween season. Also IMAX films usally stay in theaters for at least 2 or 3 months so if it stays in theaters through Christmas it should do great business during the Christmas holiday too.

Damn, I hope not. The original one was a complete piece of worthless, boring trash. Absolute garbage. Tim Burton used to be such a genius. Batman, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow. But what's with the "Jessica Simpson speaking" piles of puss he's been putting out these last few years ? Corpse Bride ? There must be something wrong with the inner workings of your tiny mind if you like this no anastetic root canal of a "movie." And Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Good lord, who thought that this crap was a good idea to put out ? It's a sacrelige to the original version. For one, it only had one guy playing all the Oompa Loompas. For two, the Oompas' didn't look anything like they were supposed to. There is no need to remake a movie when the movie is perfect the way it already is. When will the idiots in Hollywood get this through their empty heads ? Maybe these morons were the ones responsible for recent crapfests such as Starsky And Hutch and the oh, so turdarama that was Dukes Of Hazzard. I was glad to see that no one from the real version of it was supportive of the "film" and even told people not to support this pile of crap. Jessica Simpson as Daisy ? No. No. No. First of all, the real Daisy had brown hair, not blonde. Second, the real Daisy was really smart, cunning , and funny. Three things which Jessica Simpson is not. Did I mention Daisy is supposed to be smart and not a moron ? When Jessica opens her mouth, the dumb just oozes through the screen. I feel like I get brain tumors everytime I hear her nasally, grating , fingernails on a blackboard voice. She should just stick to singing....but even then, she has no talent in that area, either. Just like her sister. Ladies, just stick to looking good and doing photo shoots for magazines. Don't speak. No one with more than half a brain wants to hear what you have to say. Especially since you're both dumb as posts.

Ummmm.... are you sure you have the right thread? NBC is a classic in every sense of the word!

And why are you actually comparing Jessica Simpson's work to NBC, Corpse Bride and CATCF!!! :brick:

All three of those movies are great(well maybe not CB, but CATCF anf NBC are works of art). Even if you don't like them, they're so many levels above "The Dukes of Hazzard".

Post by disneyboy20022 »

Below is more info on this exciting event. It turns out its not going to be IMAX but instead more of how Chicken Little was in 3-D. This is going to motivate me to go see it in 3-D I dont care if its in Chicago I'll try to go even though i live 6 hours away from Chicago.

A Nightmare in 3-D on October 20
Source: The Hollywood Reporter May 2, 2006

Walt Disney Pictures will release a digitally remastered version of 1993's stop-motion animated classic Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas on October 20th.

"Nightmare" marks the second digital 3-D theatrical release from Disney after Chicken Little did banner business last year in digital 3-D on 84 U.S. screens at 81 locations. The digital 3-D box office returns outperformed the standard screenings nearly 3-to-1.

Burton and "Nightmare" director Henry Selick are involved in the digital remastering of the film and were "very cheered by the news" that Disney wanted to release the movie in 3-D, according to Selick.

"When visitors came to visit the set of 'Nightmare Before Christmas,' they were always amazed by the intricate sets and beautiful puppets -- that they actually existed in miniature," Selick said. "It was disappointing to see this effect lost on film. By remastering for 3-D, I hope that some of this magic can be captured and shown to the audience in a way they've never seen before."

Selick is directing Laika Entertainment's Coraline, starring Dakota Fanning, in Portland, Ore. Coraline represents the first stop-motion animated film to be shot stereoscopically with a dual digital camera rig for digital 3-D exhibition.

"Nightmare" is in the early stages of being digitally scanned and converted into 3-D by the computer-graphics group at Industrial Light & Magic.

The 3-D passive glasses that will be handed out to audiences at "Nightmare" screenings will be appropriately ghoulish and collectible.
