Visually, Pearl Harbor was topnotch. It was just that stupid love story triangle that ruined it. I'd have cut out Ben Affleck's character completely. Or simply recast him with someone suitable for the role and completely minimize the role's importance. And Josh Hartnett wouldn't have died. And Kate Beckinsale would have appeared topless at least once.

But that's just me.

He didn't keep it all, though. He split it up and gave it to museums all over the world. In the sequel, he could do the same thing...

Yeah, but with his finder's fee, he still managed to do pretty well for himself. I still agree that a sequel could be a beautiful thing. Like a monkey with a...erm...piece of shiny...foil.

being that he helped make and figure out of of the greatest archeological discoveries of all time, i could see national treasure being based in another country or a company that has hired him to find the treasure they need to find. basically the first but in a different place with different treasure, that's one route they could take.

I read at the IMDB boards an idea for the lost colony of Roanoke. I would love to see that idea for a sequel.
The Roanoke concept is actually not a bad idea. When I first heard about a sequel in the works, I thought it would be pretty lame to re-hash the whole freemasons secret-clues lost treasure idea. But there are so many fascinating mysteries from American history that they could investigate. Like, with the Lost Colony, they could try to figure out what happened, and maybe work in a sub-plot with the descendents of Virginia Dare. Or, they could do a movie about the 11th and 12th century Norse explorers of Northeastern North America, and what they may have left behind. Or, they could look into the ancient American civilizations like the mound-builders or the Anasazi, or even what really happened to the Mayan civilization. The possibilities are endless, ans they need not always end with the finding of a huge treasure. Rather, it could just be the discovery of an important historical event that people have wondered about for years.
Oh, I'm sorry, you're all standing...here, let me make you a chair!

Can't wait, can't wait. Yeah I hope they keep it going. Good and light hearted, if you watch the deleted scenes there was an ending that just meant sequel but they changed it. Maybe we sill see that come to light. Watch the DVD and you will see what I mean.

Would love to see a sequel to this ... to me it just was a modern Indiana Jones, fun to watch without being extremely complicated. As for the cast ... they could go for a new girl like Indy ... but that's not necessary ... it's not because he doesn't ditch her that they actually have to have kids ...

As to the why of the treasure hunts when he's filthy rich ? Why does Indy do it ? For the money ? Why did many of the explorers do the things they did ? For the adventure and the excitement of course ...

If and when it ever gets made it could be good ... or it could be terrible. I'm willing to wait and see, I just hope they keep it simple and fun like the original.

I personally would rather see Ben and Abigail still together in the sequel. They don't necessarily need to be parents or even married, but at the end of the first one, they both run into the new house, implying, at least to me, that they were staying together. At the end of all the Indy movies, the relationships were never finalized like that. Heck, in the last one, the girl fell into a bottomless abyss. :P

Anyhoo, sorry to get on my soapbox, but I would really like Abigail to reprise her role from the first one.
Plus the fact that she is really HOTT!! :D

Maybe Riley could fall in love in the sequel...

You all have come up with some great ideas.

I agree with you that that Ben and Abigail should still be together, married or otherwise. That is the one thing I never really cared for in the Indy movies.
Maybe Riley could fall in love in the sequel...
Nice idea. I'd play the part. :)He's adorable and so funny. He has to be in the movie, or I won't be happy.

I, for one, am excited. I loved the first film, and think a franchise would serve the idea well.

Hmm, it sounds interesting. I'll probably watch it despite the fact I don't care for Nicholas Cage....

Anyways I have a question about John Wilkes Booth...is Wilkes his last name? Because on Wikipedia I read he has a distant cousin named John Wilkes....and Wilkes is my last name so I'm wondering if maybe I'm some sort of distant descendant..... somehow  Probably not, but if anyone knows how I could find out let me know :D
