Rescuers, Love Bug, etc. at Wal-Mart

Post by Bullwinkle J. Moose »

I was at my local Wal-Mart today and saw a new Disney Display Stand. All of the slots were empty, though each slot had a sticker and price for movies that will be stocked there (soon I suppose). The slots that I saw were for the Rescuers, Love Bug, Three Cabelleros, Saludo Amigos, The Aristocrats, The Sword In The Stone, Hercules, Fun and Fancy Free, Robin Hood, Rescuers Down Under, Ichabod and Mr. Toad, (and others I can't remember.) I also saw two Tarzan CE DVD's, two Mulan DVD's and one Snow White Platinum Edition at my local Borders.

Bullwinkle,

What state are you in? I don't know if this is a regional thing or something. of course, I live kinda close to the wal-mart capital of the US (Arkansas)....anyway, it just helps to see where this major display is going to be.

YES!!!! You were right i got my rescuers and love bug tonight (6/4) at walmart for 15$ each. I was disapointed that neither had a jacket inside the box but what can you do. They had all the other movies that were mentioned above plus Petes Dragon the new parent trap, savage sam, james and giant peach, vault disneys and lots more for only 15$ a peice.

I need a Tarzan CE, I never got that one. Grr.

My Barnes & Nobles has four copies of The Rescuers. I haven't seen it anywhere else. The Love Bug I have not seen absolutely anywhere.

gone to two Wal-marts so far today. The one in the capital city of Arkansas didn't have them. One outside the city did have Rescuers (which I snatched up immediately for 14.44) along with a few others. the one outside of city did have a major display (Love Bug included) with many empty which I think is meant they are awaiting their arrival. I was at this wal-mart several days ago and there was no such display. I am going to another wal-mart on the way home to see if I can find Love Bug. Wish me a lot of luck.

Does anyone know if or when the Rescuers will be available for rent? I don't want to buy it with out seeing it first. (I'm really only interested in seeing the bonus feature: Under the hat villians) can anyone tell me if this feature is good?

Also went to wal-mart today and saw the display fully stocked. Did not get a disney movie, but did get the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, with most of the movie songs. YES!!! I love this soundtrack. GREAT MOVIE! Way better than Chicago. Well I didn't actually see chicago, but I think I saw enough from previews oscar clips, magazines, ect.

Phillip, I read a review that said the 'villain' extra is only 2 minutes long and is just a bunch of fast clips of different Disney villains.

One of my faves too, Phillip. I've seen both and Moulin beats it hands down.
In fact, I didn't think much of Chicago. As a film at least. Have never seen it in any other format, but it seemed very much like a "filmed stage production" rather than a "cinematic musical", which Moulin Rouge was in every sense of the word.

Plus MR was an Aussie production, so it HAS to be good. :D

Not even. It's 1 minute and 31 seconds long, and it's hosted by this real dork of a kid. But it's still kind of cool to see clips of most of the villains from the different films.
