$39.99 for 2-disc Atlantis & Dinosaur!!!!

Post by ZOOMBOOM0688 »

I have been waiting for the 2-disc Atlantis & Dinosaur to go down in price so I can get them but I just saw that Amazon raised the price to $40. :( Why are they soo expensive, AND not going down in price. I never see them in stores, does anyone know anywhere that has it for cheaper?

A few weeks ago, a store in my city (HMV on Yonge St.) had the 2-disc Dinosaur at a 2 for $30 deal; although they only had a single copy, and I haven't checked back since to see if it's still there. Good deal, though.

Those two-disc sets always had an SRP of $39.99.

But if you look hard enough at any E/B Games and/or GameStop, or any place with Used DVDs, you may be able to find it cheaper. I found a Dinosaur CE for $7.99 at GameStop and Atlantis CE for $9.99 at E/B Games. The Atlantis was a good deal because the original sticker said $17.99, but it rang up and the guy said, "Oh, it's been marked down to $9.99." Both 2-disc sets I found were in very good condition, almost as if they were opened, viewed once or twice, and stuck on the shelf for a couple years before they were sold.

The Disney Movie Club has them both for $22.95 each (and when I ordered Atlantis and put it in my cart it rang up $21.95 instead!).

Same w/ The Emperor's New Groove CE.

Amazon has every Disney DVD at full SRP right now. Why? It's a mystery, but hopefully it's short-lived.

WOW! I just noticed that, HOW WIERD! I really hope they go back to the cheaper prices. Narnia went from $23 to $34! and even the TVshows like LOST went from $38 to $60!

I mean, seriously, what is the deal with Amazon?

If I wanted to pay full MSRP for a DVD I could always just go to Borders...and then at least I wouldn't have to pay for shipping

Maybe they are having a pricing dispute with Buena Vista and decided to start charging the suggested retail price so they don't sell as many dvds. This attempt is probably trying to get Buena Vista to lower the prices for them.
