Disney Channel new show: Haversham Hall...sounds cool

Post by numba1lostboy »

I just saw on IMDB that Disney Channel has a new show in the works called Haversham Hall. The show is about two girls who meet at a boarding school and become friends. They come from opposite ends of the social ladder. The twist is that the two are long-lost sisters and don't know it. The girls apparently attend the school, which is subject to many wierd/supernatural happenings.

Sounds to me like a mix of Sister, Sister and the long-gone DCOS So Wierd.

The series is listed as a comdey series to premiere sometime this year. In my opinion, the show looks like it would be a good drama, which would be a new field for Disney Channel, but one that I think would be really cool for them to tackle. This series looks very interesting and both girls are fine actresses. But I do not see how this show could be funny.

But here's the thing that got me: Alyson and AJ Michalka are slated to star in the series. I was under the impression that Alyson was going on to be in the POTF spin-off. How is she going to be in two series at once and have a music career...which I thought could be promising.

Also...the girl who plays Velma in the Scooby-Doo movies is slated to star as the school's headmistress.

Let's hope this is a good addition to Disney Channel.

If it ends up an addition at all. This isn't the first time I've heard of a Disney Channel series in the works that never aired. There were several Lizzie McGuire spin-off's that IMDB once reported that never ended up getting so much as a pilot filmed. There was also supposed to be a Cheetah Girls series, but That's So Raven was to popular to end. I'm curious as to why Disney would cancel POTF prematurely (before it's 65th episode) and do a spin-off. Therefore, if this series is happening, I'm guessing the spin-off idea has been scratched. As for Haversham Hall, it sounds sort of promising, but I don't understand how long they can keep stories fresh. The boarding school setting locks them into one enviornment for the series. But anything's better than Hannah Montana (I've never seen an episode, but it looks so hoaky that I have no interest in seeing it... ever).

Boo.

On the plus side, if this is picked up, and if that "2121 Disney" show really will happen, that means there's no Keely on it! Woohoo!

But still. Enough already with Aly and AJ. They're so vile...

Trust me, you don't want to see it. I was watching it, and the whole time thinkin either "is this a joke?" or "Did 9 year olds make this?" And Haversham Hall sounds like it could be promising, providing that the supernatural happenings description stays as is.

I honestly don't see why everyone despises Aly and AJ. I think the girls can both act well, and are both very good singers... and even wrote almost every song on their album. Their songs are great and they are very good role models. The CD is even being sold by some Christian retailers.

If there was one thing I had to say I disliked, it would be the stupid moniker that Alyson has chosen to be known by these days. "Aly" sounds soo childish, and, at least to me, singer/songwriters should not be known like that.

But I would like to find others who don't feel that Alyson and AJ are "of the devil."

Isn't Haversham Hall home of the mad old bint with the rotting wedding cake in Great Expectations? Cool.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I don't know what the building is called, but the crazy lady's name is Miss Havisham. Not the same...but close.

It's what I thought of when I first saw the title, too. lol
