After all, The Little Mermaid's country of origin is Denmark (Hans Christian Andersen), which had a few cultural crossovers with the Norse back in the Viking era. A stretch, perhaps, but then again so is having Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco when their story originated in Arabia and originally took place in China :D
As this discussion was progressing, Karushifa, I was actually thinking the same thing! :P Denmark is a Scandanavian country, and they sell merchandise representing the other Scandanavian countries in Norway. I'd LOVE the chance to meet human!Ariel without having to dine somewhere. (Though that said, the Princess Breakfast in Norway is absolutely wonderful and I'd very much recommend it...but Ariel wasn't there when I went; she's usually there for lunch and dinner, which I've never eaten there.)

You know, the Imagineers initally fought the idea of putting Aladdin and Jasmine and friends in Morocco because that movie is set in Agrabah, which is a fictional world somewhere in the Middle East, and Morocco is a real place. They themed some of the outside areas to look more fantastical-Middle East and created the room with the Agrabah mural to make it theme better.

After years of waiting and many failed attempts, I finally met Mary Poppins for a photo and an autograph last year, and it was in the UK at Epcot. I actually see characters around the World Showcase with some regularity (moreso than in Future World), though not nearly as much as I did, say, 10 years ago (but then, that's true for all the parks, sadly).
