WANTED Sky High VHS(VHS collectors please read this)

Post by Just Myself »

Hi, I am in desperate search for a copy of Sky High on VHS. The only current place I know of to buy it is at disneyvideos.com over the phone. It is also possibly available at some of the Walt Disney World locations mentioned here. Will pay anything up to full price to anyone who is willing to order over the phone for me (I am not allowed; parental rule). I am also willing to pay anyone up to full price if purchased somewhere in Disney World. Email me at moviebrown@yahoo.com if you're willing to help. Many thanks in advance.

EDIT: I am also now willing to trade for this VHS. I have many recently new VHS movies and am willing to trade one or more for a copy of this. Am also still willing to pay.

You could just go to Suncoast and have them order it. Otherwise go buy a Disneystore gift card and you can call disney videos and use the gift card to pay for it.

I would do that, but the closest Suncoast for me is 93 miles away and I don't even think there's a Disney Store in the state.

Is there any reason why you'd prefer the VHS over the DVD? Especially since you want it at $40 when the DVD can be found for half that price?

Just curious...

Quiet Escapay I'm waiting for the offer to increase!

But really eventually there won't be VCR's anymore and all your tapes will be useless unless you have them transferred to DVD's or whatever format comes along in the future.

Here's any eBay listing for it if you're wiling to buy it off eBay. It states VHS in the bold listing but says DVD in the description part so you might want to e-mail the seller if you're interested. Only $7.99 with $2.50 s&h though:

As long as you have a VCR Player you should be able to play your tapes just like with BETA Tapes from many years ago as long as you have the machine you can watch the tapes

Escapay-Well, I already have the DVD, and some people know I'm kind of obsessed when it comes to collecting VHS. I like the nostalgia of watching movies on VHS. If it wasn't released, I would just tape the film off PPV, but since it's officially out there, I'd like the official version.

Lucylover1986- Thanks for posting that eBay offer. It says DVD in the descriptor, and talks about scratches, so I'll pass. But right now, I don't think I have the cash and saying I can pay $40 was kind of stupid of me. But if you're willing to call and find out the price, I'd be willing to put $10 extra.

Okay I am now willing to trade on any VHS (more than one at a time) AND pay $20 for Sky High off disneyvideos.com. If anyone could just call the number found here and tell me how much the tape is, that would be great.

The Disney Movie Club just added the Sky High widescreen VHS for $19.95.
Maybe some one would be willing to get it off of there for you. I am currently having some issues with the DMC, whom have angered me greatly in the past 2 months, otherwise I would have helped you on that. Perhaps if things turn out well I could get it for you for the list price and shipping, I'll see how things go.

What's with the big VHS craze? Why collect them? They're useless. The only VCRs manufactured these days are ludicrously expensive. Since it's no longer financially viable for generic companies to offer them, the only ones left making them are the old "big guns" like Panasonic and Sony; and they charge an arm and a leg. Granted, I've seen some pretty nice VCRs these days (NTSC, PAL, SECAM playback, macrovision bypass, etc.), but still... why bother with VHS now, of all times?

So... your parents won't let you order something over the phone from a perfectly legitimate company, yet they have no issues with you having monetary dealings with totally anonymous people from the internet? And they actually enforce these "rules", even when it causes you to waste your own money by offering other people ridiculous sums to do something you aren't allowed to do?

You should just ask your parents to phone up themselves and buy the accursed thing. Tell them you'll become a Scientologist if they don't

Well my thing is that I am one of the few people who aren't really into DVD's. Sure, I'll buy them, but as much as I take care of them, the discs always get scratched and then won't play on a DVD player. I clean every DVD player in my house after 10 hours of play like they tell you to, I never leave the discs out of a case unless they're being watched, my friends NEVER borrow them and if they want to see them, they've either gotta come to my house to watch it, let me go over there with it and play it on there, or rent it from Blockbuster. But enough about my DVD rant.

The main reason I collect VHS is... well, I like them. The only gripe for me is fullscreen. If you have the right VCR(which you can find at Wal Mart for about $70), you can watch it with DVD picture quality, surround sound and the work. To be simple, I just like VHS. It's okay; I've accepted the fact that I'm weird. :P

My parents won't shell out the money for it and have a rule against phone orders. Online dealings are usually fine and they let me handle my money, my way, so basically if I wanted to pay $100 of my money on a pack of gum, they couldn't care less. :P

I have never cleaned my DVD player in the 3 or 4 years I've had it. Maybe you damaged it by cleaning it.

I guess I see your reasons, but, VHS degrades over time. In 10 years, the quality will not be even close to the same.
