"The Little Mermaid" Original Trailer

Post by musicradio77 »

If you love the movie, I found the old trailer for "The Little Mermaid" which it was taken from the first released "Bambi" VHS tape. I uploaded the trailer so that I would like to see it on Retrojunk. This original trailer from the "Bambi" VHS tape is the one that is going to be on special features section for the upcoming "Little Mermaid" DVD which will be out this fall. I hope this is going to be fun. Enjoy!

That wasn't the trailer used in theaters though. There has to be another one since that really doesn't tell you what the movie even is about. That was just made for the home videos. It's still really cool though. This probably won't be on the PE at all. It'll just have the theatrical trailer and the re-release trailer most likely.

Wow thanks!! for the trailer I had been waiting for it but now I can see it.
I like it, but I prefer the new trailer because it includes the song ''Part of your world'' besides ''Under the sea''.
One thing that I love of this trailer was the movement of water when the logo appears.

We don't know because we don't know what bonus features will be included on TLM PE, but it is almost sure that it will be included because on other Platinums the original trailers were included on the bonus features.

The sad thing is that I remember this trailer.... haha

It was on either my old Jungle Book or Fox and the Hound (leaning more towards Jungle Book....) VHS along w/ the original trailer for Oliver & Company.

It's not on Fox and the Hound, because it's got trailers for TLK (with the early version of CYFTLT) and The Return Of Jafar. And the original Jungle Book video had a sneak peek of Beauty and the Beast. (If only someone would rip that and upload it too. :D) It's on the 1980's Bambi video though.

Thanks for posting. I haven't seen this trailer in years, but I remember it.

I just got my VCR to AVI capabilities fixed so when i get some spare time i'll upload trailers for the great mouse detective, beauty and the beast, aladdin, 101 dalmatians and more of the home video advertisements from the 80's/90's!~ their my favourites! Thanks for uploading this TLM trailer! ive been waiting to se it for a long time. what shocks me the most is that title!
-ryan
p.s. i doubt THIS trailer will be on the PE but definetly a trailer or two (including theatrical) from '89 will be on there.

I have the original "Black Diamond" edition of "Peter Pan" on VHS, I can't upload the second trailer on Retrojunk because of copy-protection. A lot of Disney VHS tapes did have copy-protection on it. :? What are we going to do, get an old VCR? Or maybe it will show a second trailer on the next PE. Will see.

There's a home video trailer for TLM on Peter Pan's Black Diamond VHS?

Huh...maybe mine was different, it has a preview trailer for The Rescuers Down Under. Or maybe it's been so long since I watched the VHS that I forgot the Little Mermaid trailer is on it as well...

That too, with the preview of "The Rescuers Downunder" from the "Peter Pan" BD edition.

It would be nice if they finally decided to put more of the tv spots and other promos on the PE editions along with the actual trailers. There is soo much out there that they could be sharing with us. On a side note, I've always heard there is an alternate version of the scene when ariel signs the scroll, in the theatrical version apparently she signs it w/ blood and not a pen. I was only 2 when I saw it in theaters so I don't remember. Anyone heard of this and if its out there do you think they'd stick it in the deleted scenes? we almost always just get storyboards under that section.

Somewhat OT, but indulge me. Are you the same musicradio77 from the RetroJunk forums? I read your posts in this forum and recoginzed the Disney logo you use on RetroJunk, especially in the "Remember the SFM Holiday Network" thread. (I know, because I posted in that thread too, under "Blissey01")
